i thought after the spurs got up 2-0 it was over but the pistons have fought back to make it 2-2. still the worst it can be for the spurs is 3-2 pistons going back to SA for 2. could go 7. good series. celtics lakers of the 80's was better. :D

Man, ths Spurs were beaten in the 1st quarter of this game. I've never seen anything like it in the finals.

OMG Lindsay Lohan is on Leno, hoooootness...

Ok, back to b-ball :)

Think of it this way... Its a best of 3 series now. The team who has the two home games has a great edge over the team that only has 1. I still think the Spurs should take it. They just have to keep their confidence level up.

btw...

GO SPURS!!! :)

I'm pulling for the Pistons even though I'm in Texas. Everyone just keeps writing them off but they are one of the few teams in the NBA that actually play like a team. It makes it fun to watch.

Go Spurs... I can't really support a team with a bitchy whiner (Rasheed), an egomaniac (Take your pick of guards... Chauncy, Rip). Have you noticed how the Detroit team get looser foul calls... If they tried those hard fouls in San Antonio, they would have been called Flagrant fouls.

Oh wells, it is Detroit afterall... the Bad Boys.

Tim Duncan has to step up his game, he looked pretty bad last night.

Detriot got/gets looser calls because they were down 2-0 and the NBA was losing money because no one wants to watch a small market team play (spurs) and the series looks "over" at 2-0.

The reasons I think the NBA tries to fix games:

1. Money, as stated above w/2 smaller market teams their are less viewers and even less when the series is 2-0. A series tied 2-2 is much more compelling and has more "drama" for the casual fan.
2. The refs make calls that are SO bad there is no way I can believe they do it by accident. Remember the refs in the Finals are the BEST refs the NBA has. Normally the team that needs to win get the benefit of beating the shit out of the other team and not getting called and getting to the foul line more often on the other end.
3. The refs tend to call fouls on the lesser known players (when they can i.e. 3 guys hack a guy on a dunk) to keep the "stars" in the game more. Would you rather watch Duncan or Mohammed the back up?
4. David Stern wanted to execute Jeff Van Gundy when he hinted that the games might be fixed. If a game isn't puposely influenced by refs just say that. Even a casual fan would be able to see a fairly called game since they show so many slow motion replays.

5. Did I mention lost revenue yet? ;)
Those are the only reasons I can think of right now.

The reasons I think the NBA doesn't try to fix game:

1. The Spurs and Detriot are playing in the Finals. They are both two defensive teams and not high flying high scoring teams which seems to be what most casual viewers want to see. I dare say if the Lakers and the Knicks or Cavs played, they would have no shortage of viewers. All that said these are probably the best teams in the league. Even fixing games couldn't get the Lakers and Cavs to the Finals.

2. The refs really do just suck as bad as they look.

3. It might look obvious if they tried to fix games and would be risking a lot if caught.

4. The Spurs played like a high school team the last two games. However, it is hard to shoot and pass with broken arms and wrists.

If any refs are reading this, stop saying that you are trying to even out your calls by missing a foul at one end then calling a invisible foul the next time down. JUST CALL THE GAME AS YOU SEE IT. We all know refs can't see everything and make mistakes.

I predict the series goes to 7 games and the refs call a good (well ok fair) game in the final game and the Spurs win the final by 13.

Ok guys start posting what a idiot I am about all this. :D

Gee, I wish I had noticed you were from San Antonio before I read all that crap.

Now it makes perfect sense.

hey i dont like the spurs. not many people remember when tim duncan said he hated the alamodome and "needed" to have a new arena to play or he would leave. the alamodome was built for the spurs (taxpayer dollars) and the tim comes along and demands a new taxpayer funded arena. no one is worth a new arena and it wouldnt bother me if they moved their franchise to another town. just remember speed doc you keep in mind im in SA and i will remember that your in houston.

without duncan the spurs would not have won their championships. the year he was drafted my celtics had 2 first round picks one being from the team with the worst record in the league whose name i forget now. their chances of getting the first pick were very good. but they ended up getting the 3rd and 6th pick for ron mercer and chauncey billups. pitino was the coach at the time and unloaded both of them before they had any time to develop and now billups is a very good player. as far as duncan i think if he ended up in boston he would have brought them a championship too. is he worth a new arena? well i wouldn't complain about it as long as his team is winning.

 did everyone see him in game 5?

"Big Shot Bob" does it again! What a game!

...and people said it wasn't gonna be a good series. I say SA takes it next game 94-79

anyone else care to venture a guestimate?

Okay, I've knocked Horry's greatness as a PF but I was honestly impressed by the way he took it to the Pistons late in this game! First he takes it in for the nasty dunk (I don't care if it was on "Rip") then he hit the big shot! Definitely better than his Laker days of just IMO waiting for the big shot but little else! Props to Horry on this game! He really got a few reactions from me during this game!

^^^ that was said 6/17. sorry i missed by a few points.

wow did billups and rasheed play a pretty good series. i hadnt really watched rasheed since his portland days but he was doing pretty much anything he wanted. if billups could of gotten bowen off him he could of done some serious damage.
