I think that will be the title of my first book...or next punk band sea-rx8 06-16-2005, 08:33 AM It's funny that this article just came out. My boss just got back from McKinley last Friday. And he was telling us about the poo problem and how he had to pack out his poo in the "cans" they are talking about. He was able to summit. Here are a few pics he just sent me this morning :D BTW...the first one of the plane flying through the pass.....they call it "1 shot pass" sea-rx8 06-16-2005, 08:34 AM some more :) sea-rx8 06-16-2005, 08:35 AM and just a few more klegg 06-16-2005, 08:42 AM that is amazing stuff. I wish I could do something like that. sea-rx8 06-16-2005, 09:55 AM I'll give you a few more from the top of the world. In the one with just an open filed.......notice the small plane comming in for a landing:) sea-rx8 06-16-2005, 09:58 AM It looks cold :) Grabitquick 06-16-2005, 11:31 AM that is amazing stuff. I wish I could do something like that. Given your well-known "poo" problems, you might quintuple the problem if you were ever to ascend McKinley! :p ;) Blue87Sport 06-16-2005, 12:36 PM Mt. Rainier has the same problem. When I summitted about 15 years ago, the smell at the top was terrible. People don't bury their droppings and it never gets warm enough to decompose. So it just sits there and smells. :( You're elated by of getting to the top, then *eeewwww* what's that smell?!? It's not exactly a National Geographic moment. So if there's ever a mudflow alert from Mt. Rainier, run like hell. It ain't mud!!   FONZIE 06-16-2005, 12:49 PM I think Dr. Bradford Gessner should have his licence revoked for using the language of a 14 year old in his statement :) ZoomZoomH 06-16-2005, 02:33 PM yeah at least say doo-doo or something :p Morgan 06-16-2005, 04:09 PM thats just gross... Nubo 06-17-2005, 05:53 PM Maybe someone should offer a reward for each umm.... piece.... brought back down. Encourage a few "poo retrieval" missions... http://www.craftingpa.com/files/Mr_Hanky.jpg |
