"S.A.D. news (S.A.D. = standard American diet)
Statistics say that soda, French fries, potato chips, hamburgers and chocolate make up 70% of the American diet. The top 10 selling products in grocery stores are
1- Marlboro cigarettes
2 - Coke classic
3- Kraft macaroni & cheese
4- Pepsi
5- Diet Coke
6-Budweiser beer
7-Campbell's soup
8-Tide detergent
9-Folger's coffer
10- Winston cigarettes.
Is it any wonder that the health condition of Americans is so awful? If you want to improve your health, you have to eat real foods, the less processed the food, the more life it has. The more life it has, the more life it will give to you. "

I'm finding for me what works best is moderation and exercise. I can eat pretty much anything I want provided I'm willing to burn it off by exercising later. I've given up on quick-fix fad dieting. They're too hard to stick to long term. :)

Plus I don't buy any of the crap on that list. :D

you don't buy detergent? eww...ring around the collar :)

and i don't believe in fad dieting, not because they are too hard to stick to, but most end up doing just as much harm as "good".

Those are all brand named products on that list. I don't buy Tide detergent; my wife has sensitive skin. We use Sun and Earth (http://www.sunandearth.com/), instead. :D

Heh I also don't buy any of that stuff. Closest thing on there is the Beer and I don't like Budweiser, or beer actually. But if I had to pick a beer I have grown fond of Guinness.

I use the soups...they make a good base for certain recipes.

I have found chemo therapy is an excellent way to shed unwanted pounds.

Radiation to the neck works even better. :D

I use the soups, too. Well, one of them. Campbell's Tomato Soup, made with milk, is a comfort food of mine. A throwback to my childhood, as it were. The rest of the stuff on there will not be found in my shopping cart!

yeah, me, too. I never developed a taste for canned meat of any kind, but hey - to each their own.

*thinks of jellied sausages in a can and shudders again*
