FWIW...a Mazda dealer who posts regularly on Edmunds indicated that Mazda USA sent a notice this morning (July 11th) to say first 17 RX-8's have left the port in NE for NE dealers.

My dealer just called me to say that my car was loaded on the truck in Tacoma on Wed. and should be ready for me to pick up on Monday. Was hoping for today -- but I guess I will get a lot of things done around the house this weekend to take my mind off of the RX -- I'll be playing with my new toy all next week :D

Thanks Lensman for the kind works. I still am in agony for your delay.

I hope y'all across the pond find our experiences helpful before you get yours.

Uh, for the Americans - he means to keep their chins up!!

('Pecker', slang, means something entirely different over here in North America!)

From reading some of their posts, seems to me that their peckers had been up during the whole time while they were waiting for the cars !!!

Probably it will be a Canadian buyer close to the port of entry, i.e. Vancouver. I'm all the way out here in Montreal - I won't be first, but I hope the car will arrive before August.

just talked to my dealer. my car is still not released from the port in dallas. says it could be 7 days to be delivered after it does say released.

but, he had told me july week 3...

I'd bet Monday or Tuesday we'll really start seeing them roll into dealers. Mine has been saying week 3 for quite a while now. Releasing them on friday probably gives the trucks time to make the longer hauls over the weekend I'd guess.

BTW I talked to my sales guy about accessories. I was able to talk him into giving me the fender strakes at cost. Better than nothing I guess. It pays to ask though.
