View Full Version : RX8-In USA Today (Are we gettin them today?)
We must be getting close to getting our cars out of captivity as the USA today ran an article today on the 8 (page 5D). Overall the article is positive, the only negative comment was in regards to the location of the dipstick and that it is virtually impossible to get to:(

jonalan 07-11-2003, 11:02 AM Anyone have any specifics on where this "difficult to reach" dipstick is located?

It's so difficult to reach the dipstick, no one has found it yet.:D
brothervoodoo 07-11-2003, 11:38 AM If I recall, you just have to remove the plastic molded Renesis center cover to get to it.
From what I recall in old threads, it's the oil filter that might be a little more difficult to get to: (depending if it's RHD or LHD)

c170673 07-11-2003, 12:28 PM Is it true that Mazda are planning to eventually sell 30,000 per year in the states?
zoom44 07-11-2003, 01:26 PM click the link on the right side of the page next to the red rx8. it takes you to a slide show with audio commentary from the writer. he calls the nav system the best on the market and says other maufacturers should take note. among other things.
good quote "The RX-8 sports a healthy 247 horsepower, and despite its piddling 159 pounds-feet of torque, the car is well-geared for slug-and-chug traffic such as the two hours it took to travel 23 miles on the Washington Beltway, clutch in, clutch out; in, out; wait, go. The car was a champ. "
favorite line "And the RX-8 is how to do a high-class, distinctive sports car to suit modern circumstances. Bravo."
P00Man 07-12-2003, 11:14 AM smells like....victory!
apparently, mazda HAS done, despite all odds, i suppose all the companies that previously thought "you cant do that" have to shutup, cause it seems that mazda has gone "we just did, STUPID" lol
hopefully mazda now becomes the company it was becoming before it was forced to remove the rx-7 from US shores, and somehow got lost along the path to great car-maker

because your post is pretty meaningless and is simply taking up space, if it really makes you feel better, type up all the comments such as your previous one in a word document and save it on your computer, than you can look at them whenever you want, without detracting from the discussion on this forum

Yep, the RX-8 is not a limited production vehicle like first thought. It is all out sell sell sell.

Accords sold each year in the US: 400,000
Camarys sold each year in the US: 380,000
In other words, there will be 1 RX-8 sold for every 26 of these cars (combinded). Let alone all of the prior year models of these same cars on the road. Along with everybody else in their SUV's.
Don't worry, it will be very rare to meet another RX-8 at a stop light.
