I thought I'd start my first Poll (if I can figure this thing out, lol)...

What is the MOST overblown "perceived" problem in your opinion? The one that get's the most fame but in reality is overblown. While I think fuel, oil, flooding, slow, and weak AC are overblown (based on MY experiance with the RX8 compared to what I thought it was going to be like before I owned it) I'd have to go with...(a winner by a hair)

Fuel consumption
(I heard and still hear stories of 10-13mpg and I've NEVER hit below 18.7mpg)

Having to add oil. I can't believe magazines actually complain about this!

Who cares? Oil is frickin' cheap. You check it like once every couple months or so. Big f'in deal.

BTW, I've hit 12 mpg, rx8wannahave, so I don't think fuel consumption is "highly untrue" ;)

Had to go with oil.

But the poor fuel economy in true.. avg is 15.1 worst is 11.8.

My best is 22 (with 100% HW driving). but who really cares. My wife never gets less than 28 mpg in her car, so it averages out and I get to have more fun in mine. :D

Flooding. Maybe my car is a "defect", but I've only flooded once. And I'm not even certain it WAS flooded.

I also agree with the oil. It's just far too cheap to be an issue at all. And it has gotten me in the habit of actually looking under my hood now and then to be sure everything is in good order.

I'd have to agree with flooding. Seems like 75% of the cases posted here are user error, and could've been avoided by reading the manual prior to driving the car.
