Just got back from my 2400 mile trek across the Midwest. Thought I'd share some pictures my brother took.
I've had a few requests from members to see the gold accents package. So here they are.

UPDATE: Here (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=84309) are updated pictures after Koni shocks and Tein S-Techs springs installed. :)

I did not know they offered gold accents either? You car looks great. Gold caliper would look awesome. Also gold strakes or even gold-tinted corners would look nice :)

if you bought the gold, you got sold :) J/K Looks great with the black exterior, but I doubt it would get the same type of reaction with other colors.

Thanks for all the positive comments. The dealer I bought it from has a red and a white '05 with the gold accents but it doesn't seem to be as elegant as the black. Gold is my first choice of caliper color but I haven't been able to find a high heat gold paint yet,any suggestions?

Or you can try high temperature enamel paint. They are usually inexpensive and also easy to apply.

I don't think that the gold is available in Canada and I honestly thought it was a custom job (like you gold plated it!).

No I bought it like that. I'm not 100% sure weather it's factory or if it's a dealer add-on but the dealer here in Orlando is the only place I've seen them so it leads me to believe that it may be a dealer add-on. There was an additional sticker on the window indicating the price for the gold package. It said $500 but I was able to get them to throw it in for free when I was negotiating the purchase price.

You need gold Strakes and wheels to complete it

That's pretty sweet. I would get the gold accents if they had it available when I bought my car. Would match my gold rims nicely.

LOL, hmmm I wonder if that's a hint? :D
First let me contact the dealer to see if this is feasible. Then I'll post the info here for anyone interested.

I have inquired here locally about doing the gold strakes but way too costly just for strakes. I like the Kosei's but I'm afraid it may be too much gold. I like that the gold is an accent color and therefore not the predominant color. Maybe something in black with a gold lip or lugs would be more of what I'm looking for.

If you like the gold accents, most metropolitan areas have accessory companies that can do the job. Its a chemical process that changes the color of your chrome with electricity. I don't know the exact process, but the dealership I worked at once had a guy come out on occassion and do the work right in the parking lot. Fairly easy. Ask any of your local dealers, there should be someone who does them. And probably a lot cheaper than buying them predone.

Yup. It's called electroplating and it's exactly the same way that things get chrome plated. Probably not too many Mazda dealers have a gold plater but should be pretty common at Cadillac and Lexus dealers. Should cost way less than $275 to have your own stuff plated than buying the kit.

Know of anyone in Orlando or Central Florida that can do this? I'm still looking to get some strakes done to match the gold accents. I wouldn't mind sending them away to get done but I figure it's easier if they can see the exact shade of gold in person instead
of trying to match it by pictures alone. The dealer I bought from no longer does this. I was thinking maybe a Cadillac or Lexus dealer but not too sure. Any help?

tiggerlee, I have never had anything gold plated around here. Do you know if your stuff is real 24k? If it is, then the tone should be able to be duplicated anywhere. The Lexus dealer here in town usually has a bunch of gold plated cars on the lot. Just call the service desk and find out who does it for them.

It looks 24k but weather it is or not I'm not 100% sure. The addition sticker that was on it at the dealer said it was a $500 add-on so it may be.There's actually a Lexus dealer not to far from me so I'll probably just go that route. Thanks again for your help beachdog.

how about colour coding the front/rear rotary cresents and the exhaust tips :D j/kFor the exhaust tips, just get an exhaust with single-walled stainless tips (like a Racing Beat or Hymee) - they will turn to gold by themselves :p:
