The yellow car wasn't stock - some mods; unnamed...

unless these are prototypes there is no way they can be a Z06, the Z06 isn't even out yet for the C6, they're not supposed to drop for at least another month or so. If they are Z06 c6s, someone must have mad connections :D

hmm...I don't recall reading Chevy claiming Ford GT - level performance. But it's already within .5 seconds in the 1/4, and close in trap speed - at HALF? the cost... :)

From Road and Track, May 2005:

Our radar gun clocks the Ford GT's 0-60-mph time at 3.8 seconds, and the quarter-mile sprint at 12.2 sec. with the speedometer indicating 121.6 mph.

In the video above, we see a z06 with unknown mods, trapping at 120mph...and hitting 12.00. I'd say that's VERY close to Ford GT numbers....:D :)

Ford GT's are burning the 1/4 mile up in the mid 11's. Chevy never actually claimed the time to keep up with the Ford GT, but I thought I read estimated performance numbers in the mid 11's, I was hopeful it would keep up. Who knows, it was a while ago, during all the rumours about the car, it could have just been some made up press release.

they aren't out for purchase, but they are definitely on the roads in the hands of testers in production form. I have heard many stories of sighting in and around detroit. I am sure going to the drag strip is all part of the shakedown.

a stock C5 Z06 runs low 12's, except for that first yellow one they didn't seem that great to me, looked like he must of at least had high grip rear tires to run the low 11 time

apparently that yellow one is a modded c6, not a z06. It just has a z06 body kit for some reason.

If you are trying to assert that there are no Z06's on the road you are way off. The video was taken at a recent Corvette event at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY. The track is only a few minutes away from the corvette factory and museum.

Those are definitely Z06 C6s so I guess someone does have some mad hookups

sure there may be some on the road, (highly unlikely, but possible) but if you're telling me that yellow one is a z06 then get off the crack, MAYBE the blue one is, but it's REALLY hard to tell in those vids, especially considering none of those cars (except the yellow one) got numbers close to what z06 is supposed to get. I've been following this car closely as I dream of owning one someday so if I'm wrong? fine, it's all good. I'm still having a hard time believing those are the real deal when even the vette guys (some of whom who were there when that was filmed) are saying they are not. oh and arguing on the internet sucks, and I'm not going to fall into the dark pit of useless activity any further so that's all I have to say about any of this mess and you can believe what you want, hopefully you're right and it makes you feel good about your self :)

first off I did not say "nowhere close", second off, all the stuff I've read and seen has this car doing low 11s, a second makes a huge difference in 1/4 times.

2. When the yellow one zips past, notice the absence of the gap from the removable roof panel. The fixed roof is the strongest telltale of the Z06.

But really, Canary, I don't think anyone wsa really getting riled up about this... I was just pointing out strong evidence of a bona fide Z06. Now that I think about it, it doesn't neccessarily prove anything as it could technically be a C5 Z06 (which also has the fixed roof) which has some sort of crazy C6 Z06 body kit. Of course, that would have to be a crazy body kit, especially to transform the headlights from flip-up to fixed.

Anyway, none of this is really a big deal...
