Indeed I have. I don't think they will fit the 8 though. I used precut stick-on covers sort of like window tint, but thicker. I have seen a few folks use panty hose with excellent results.

a few people on the site have done it but I havent seen any pics. When I made this same thread about 4 months ago I was told the best option is to remove the taillights then buy some tail light smoke (from pep boys I think?) and spray some inside the lights.

Hmm, though I like smoked tails on other cars, I don't really care for them on 8's. I really like the stock lights on the 8, even though for years I've hated the euro style taillights. Does anyone have a pic of a red 8 with smoked tails though?

i agree with the doctor...he knows whats best for you...

that ms 8 looks mean... evil from both ends. from the front, it looks like a cobra (the snake, not the car), and the ear looks like red pupils... nice, but the stock lights are awesome on the 8.

Thanks for the reply guys, and i like that ms8 pete... looks very nice... i love how the taillights look on the 8, but was just curious as my buddy has an SL55 black with his smoked, and it looks really nice..

Thats the Mazda concept RX8--so its a one off kit--the car is boosted though. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Here in Greece-Europe,are illegal...But..Who cares??Front licence plate removal is illegal-we all have removed them though.Stage 2 tint is illegal,we have all tinted our windows...And now somw are running decats....hehehe :D ;) :rolleyes:

they cant be illegal in california as the SL 55 AMG comes stock with smoked taillights and the brabus dealer in newport sells only black benz and all their SL's have their taillights smoked..

When driving at night, you can't tell at all. During the day, depending on the time and the amount and angle of sunlight, it's pretty obvious.

And yes, illegal.

I've had cops right on my tail many times and they have not stopped me for it, but they sure could if they wanted to.

I guess I shouldve tried more word combinations as i used the combo "smoked Taillights" and nothing of note came up... I like the two small pics, definitely would like to see the tailights in the daylight

I believe that white 8 was created by engineers who designed it on their own time. I can't remember who it was, but a member on this forum said he tailed the car along the PCH and had a chat with the driver.

The spray is called nightshade, and a cop can pull you over in some places for having it on.

the spray is the riciest thing ever, it looks bad too. the way to do it is to use the pre cut film that you put on there.
