what are the tint laws in Canada? more specifically, Ontario?

what do you have your tint at? (front doors, rear doors, back windshield)

I've never gotten tint done to a car, so I'm looking around to see what people usually go with and whats 'legal, questionable, dont get caught' :D

Hey Frostee,

I knew with the Black on Black option I purchased last November I would need better than stock glass to keep the car cool inside. I went with " Formula One " made tint.

Rear and side < small portals > windows at 15% Driver and passanger at 35% which is within Ontario law. The film was computer cut < I liked that idea >. Clean and professional shop in Markham.

Those were pre-tint shots. Stock glass seems to have a mild green hue to it. Not completely clear. I have used the 15% & 35% combination twice, same on my 94 MX6 never had any problem with any law enforcement.

The tint look really improves the look, to me it seems more chopped from door up, an optical illusion. I'm extremely happy with the tint, added bonus is the A/C does not work anywhere near as hard as it used to.

Also took the front plate off, waiting to see how long that wil last. Love that look too !

Hey Moyenne,
How you doing? I seen your car at the Ottawa meet and it looked good (even in the rain.) I was the one talking with you that owned the red Rx-8.
I'm curious as to your experience with that shop as I'm thinking I may get the "8" tinted this summer. Also can you let me know which tint (film) you got and the price you paid if you don't mind. You can PM me with the price if you feel like letting me know.

Thanks.

No Problem I don't mind,

The shop was clean, professional and most important IMHO, the film is computer cut to fit the car exactly.

I went with the Formula One brand on reading feed back on the main forum. I didn't use Ceramic which is considered top of the line.

Tint used on my 8 was " Premier Series " cost $ 375.00 tax in
