if youre a 19yr old college student, the tC has more bang for the buck!

(sung to the tune of 'mother' by Pink Floyd)

Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry
mama's car is much faster than yours,
mama will throw down and blow off your doors
mama's enjoying this rotary fling
your friends hit on me and I know that must sting

ooooh babe
ooooh babe
ooh babe
because mama's sporting the bling.

nice vehicles, you both must be proud.

Yeah, I was thinking it came off that way ;) . I am sure no harm was meant though :) .

Nice Pics though. How does your son like the TC? My neighbor has one and it is growing on me.

he really loves it.....you really cant beat it for 16,500....especially with what comes as standard equipment....he got no extras.....the rims are sweet, its really roomy inside....its got 2 sun roofs.....he just put a short throw in it and is very pleased....its got a 2.4 liter camry engine in it and will probably run forever...

If you are a 19 year old college student and you have an 8, either your parents bought it for you, you bought it with money your parents gave you, you dropped out of high school and became a stripper or you stole it. I am 32 and this is the first vehicle I have owned that had a sticker price over $26,000. Personally I think the Scion is pretty nice. Alot nicer than what I was driving at 19 (1979 Datsun 280ZX). If you are 19 and you did get your 8 legitimately from your own hard work, then congrats, but most people that age couldn't dream to afford a car that expensive.

This is the second Floyd-related post of yours that I've seen, so I've gotta ask - have you heard the 'Rebuild the Wall' album by Richard Wright and the Wrongs?

Ha. Incorrect. Actually, I bought it will all my own money that I earn running the internet store for a local music store. Commission is a great thing. Of course, I don't have any free time, but it's worth it when I'm driving home :D

Don't listen to him...the tC is a nice car (yes...heavy, slowish, a little too firm with the seats...) but the tC is a fine car. If I was in college (and I could not afford an 8) I might have gotten a tC.

The TC is a good car in that it's cheap, yet better than the other cars in it's class (Escort, Neon, Cavi, Sunfire).

Although true most can't afford the 8 in college some can. I guess I was fortunate enough to have my parents pay for my education, because that allowed me to spend my money on my 8. Although mine wont be paid off until october i still bought it with my own money

I would'nt say that. I bet a full tank of gas on that car lasts him a long time.

Ofcourse it's no rx8 but these days we have to consider the economics when buying cars.

how about being 53 and buying your first car priced over $30,000 - my first car was a 64 VW beetle.....cost $400

Well since we're all replying to your post ;) sounds like your stereotyping the income earning abilities of the average 19 year old. I know a few that make bundles of cash as programmers in the gaming community. One guy I know makes more now than I could barely dream of...albeit he's certainly not your average 19 year old! He's 21 now and drives a 350Z and wants to upgrade to a 911 :p AND....he dropped outta college.

I agree. You'd be surprised how many of us youngsters fit that profile. I've owned my own business since I was 17 and have bought 4 new cars since then (not the most wise investments). Some of us Gen X and Yers may surprise you yet!

Geez Louise - I had no idea I would stir up so much controversy.....yikes!!!!
but actually if you think about it - most 19yr olds that have an 8 are not your typical 19yr old...thats not to say there isnt something to be said about those who do not have one.....everyone's situation is different.....we should just all be grateful that we have one regardless of the circumstances surrounding our ownership.....I know I am!! :D
