Damn things really do freeze in the headlights. I hit one. Couldn't do a damn thing about it. Went sleepless for nights. The kids were in the car and 12 years later and all grown up they still ask why I ran over Bambi.

Never have. Had some close calls. I work out in Pt. Reyes National Park. Their only predators are cars.
I think everyone else I work with has.
One person even hit a cow

I had a dog put a wet nose mark in the dust on the side of the car I was driving once. Kind of a streak, really.

I have never hit a deer but I have come close twice.

The last time was in northern Missouri right outsideof Kirksville late at night in my FD. That was scary.

I did hit a canadian goose once with my Porsche. It killed the bird and ripped of a rubber piece on the bumper of my Porsche. I got out, cursed the bird, kicked it, got back in the car, and then ran it over.

One of the very few times I've had the antilock kick in was this past weekend at night in the rain when I avoided a possum in my lane in the twisties. Still wish antilock was an option.

If you look around on those sites like ebaum.com, you might find a really freaky video of a guy on a crotch rocket that was following another guy in the twisties...and then there's a frame or two of this deer running into the picture, and then a whole lot of tumbling and rolling. $#@%^ed up.

Deer are not a problem where I live...

But those 7 foot kangaroos make a real mess... :mad:

Two people claim to have struck 11 or more deer in their lifetimes. You guys must be aiming for them.

I almost hit a Doe about 3 weeks ago at 110mph. Luckily I had just put on some new tires which increased grip tremendously.

This happened on a long backroad at dusk. Slammed on my brakes and my friend said I would have hit it if it didnt jump up and over the right side of my hood.

I've hit two; killed one of them. I've only been driving for 8 years, too.
