View Full Version : My Rant thread
zoom44 05-18-2005, 03:56 PM Before i go into my rant let me just say this. If during my rant i say something that sounds like it is about you than it probably is. dont take it personally just stop doing what ever it is im ranting about and we'll be fine:D
It used to be that everyone hated the engine cover. now everytime something comes out like an intake or a strut bar, one of the first questions is " can we still use the engine cover?"
one of the first things people said when they got the car was "it handles like its on rails" or " the steering is telepathic". now, if you read the suspension forum, we are apparently driving a car with all the handling and steering feel of a olds delta88.
to many people the car is quick if not quick enough. the bashing of the cars speed was done by trolls from other forums etc. now a purported owner starts a thread saying the car could never possibly do the time a mag posted.
there are 3 threads right now about lambo doors! nuff said.
on the same day there are 2 threads about asking what might be new for 06. the answers came down to pure speculation and a bunch of "we dont know". while these are still hot at the topof the thread list someone starts a thread asking about what the changes will be for 07!!!
Every week someone starts a thread asking a question that can be answered by reading the manual. Read the damn manual people!! and if they did a search first they would find 3 other threads asking the same question. each of those threads having answering posts saying TO READ THE F@#$ING MANUAL.
then there are the posts saying "i was just at the dealer getting the car serviced. they said they flashed it/ changed the oil etc. what flash/oil/oil filter did i get?".
when you ask for more info, say like what their paperwork says, they havent got any paperwork!!! why do you pick up your car without getting the paperwork? then you ask what the service people said in response to their question. answer? THEY HAVENT ASKED THEM YET!!
there's a member with like 40 posts lamenting in the girls butt thread the fact that not many pics have been posted yet? they dont know you! you havent interaccted enough yet with any of these people to bitch about them not posting pics . why do you think you have the right?
back to the car " wtf i got a cel at 400 miles -this car is junk!" its just a friggin light folks calm the F down! "what should i do?" RTFM!!! then go to the dealer and find out what the code is!!
people go to their service guy with a problem "the car makes a noise" the service person says "its normal for a car to make that noise" THEN they come here and ask what it is and if we think its normal. why didnt you have the tech explain to you what it was ?!! instead of just accepting the answer and walking away?
thats all for now. there will be more but i gotta go feed Henry and calm, down. damn smoke tree in my front yard broke anf fell over on the fence between us and the neighbors. gdammit!! no damage to the fence really but i like that tree!

Elara 05-18-2005, 04:08 PM My goodness...go Zoom44 :)
No More Oldsmobiles 05-18-2005, 04:08 PM My Delta 88 handles like a Delta 88. Anything I can do?
Razpewton 05-18-2005, 04:09 PM You need a vacation, dude. :) 1st round is on me......
Zoom's Vacation (http://www.mazdanow.com/dragon2005/registration.htm)
zoom44 05-18-2005, 04:14 PM "my car has rock chips in the bumper and scratches on the wheels! wtf i only had it for a year. im making the dealer replace them!" and the dealer frikkin does it.
but some nameless forum members havegrinding 2nd gears since like 100 miles of ownership. they complain and get several fixes that d ont work, then their tranny breaks and they are refused warrenty for the tranny and the warrenty is completly branded/voided because they had the car over 100mph. wtf!!
mandy24 05-18-2005, 04:19 PM I am just glad your not REALLY upset...........
I can image how frustrating being a Moderator must be. If I can shed any light on it, you and others on this forum, helped me with a major safety issue I would have NEVER known about and am sure there are countless others you have helped. Sorry, you have to put up with idiots, but we really appreciate you!!!

Zoom's just venting. He's one of the best members this forum has.... (he'll be okay shortly....) :)
My 16-year-old friend has an SRT-4....will I beat him?
Grabitquick 05-18-2005, 04:34 PM Go ahead, Zoom. Don't hold back. Tell us how you REALLY feel. :p
Actually, I'm glad that you started this. There are certainly a lot of innane threads on the forum. I hope that I didn't start any. :o
abbid 05-18-2005, 04:37 PM "my car has rock chips in the bumper and scratches on the wheels! wtf i only had it for a year. im making the dealer replace them!" and the dealer frikkin does it.

BlueEyes 05-18-2005, 04:38 PM You know why you need to vent? because you don't tell them to their faces, err monitors. Let 'em have it, it feels good. Makes you look like a bit of an ass, but whatever, sanity is worth it.
mandy24 05-18-2005, 04:43 PM Zoom's just venting. He's one of the best members this forum has.... (he'll be okay shortly....) :)
I hope that didn't come across wrong..........I just wanted to let him know he is appreciated!!! :)
It used to be that everyone hated the engine cover. now everytime something comes out like an intake or a strut bar, one of the first questions is " can we still use the engine cover?"
...because the Engine cover looks cool. :)
one of the first things people said when they got the car was "it handles like its on rails" or " the steering is telepathic". now, if you read the suspension forum, we are apparently driving a car with all the handling and steering feel of a olds delta88.
...because more people are buying the car, coming from a car which handles 'better'. :)
to many people the car is quick if not quick enough. the bashing of the cars speed was done by trolls from other forums etc. now a purported owner starts a thread saying the car could never possibly do the time a mag posted.
...because the car isn't very fast. I can step on the gas, to the floor, mid corner, in 2nd gear and get nearly 'no' rise from the tach.
there are 3 threads right now about lambo doors! nuff said.
Agreed. :)
Every few weeks, some long-in-the-tooth forum member creates a rant about all the n00bs.
:D :p:
:D
Razpewton 05-18-2005, 04:45 PM I hope that didn't come across wrong..........I just wanted to let him know he is appreciated!!! :)
I'm sure he knows that....not to speak on his behalf or anything. Not many people know about the true Zoom and his special "appointments".... What he is not alowed to reveal unto us.....is that he typed "rant", but meant "chant". :D

Yes, the mods here do a much better job than I have seen on many other forums. I think zoom44 and the group here deserve a big thanks.
Speed-ER doc 05-18-2005, 04:49 PM Errr, I don't think he really wanted more discussion about the rant issues.
Hint, hint. :p

TeamRX8 05-18-2005, 05:07 PM you have no idea, I must bite my tongue at least 50 times everytime I visit this site and I haven't even been hanging out here very long.
I'm working real hard to become a reformed ranter though :p
Gotta love Zoom44, who, by the way, hasn't scared me in way too long. Rant ON, dude!
So, based on Raz's excellent photochop, are we to assume an altar should be built? Candles? Incense? Offerings of some kind?
zoom44 05-18-2005, 05:13 PM everytime ai click to go somewhere or do something on the forum in the last 2 days i get "the connection was refused" or "rx8club not found" grrrr..
people join threads just to tell me that someone did somethinhg wrong in another thread!!
or when a thread is closed people complain in another thread " they closed thread A and this one is still open-it makes no sense"
like i/we actually have all the eyes like in Raz'z chop- if you dont like whats going on in a thread report it !!!
zoom44 05-18-2005, 05:30 PM every week i get some friggin letter in the mail from Irvine Ca from some bank/mrtgage firm offering me a home equity or some other crap. how manyu of these places do they have there?
hell, the only letter i want to get from Irvine is one from Mazda saying "We have a job for you that pays gobs of money for little work that you can do from home. Also we have a way for you to have 300 hp with full warrenty, heres the all the secrets about the PCM and WDS and Flashes and here is a copy of the full service manual that you can post on the 8club for dowloading by everyone who wants it."
must be raining in portland today... :)
:D
zoom44 05-18-2005, 05:42 PM yeah and it broke my damn tree!!
zoom44 05-18-2005, 05:47 PM 6 month old son
zoom44 05-18-2005, 05:51 PM link to pics in previous post . hes more than doubled his length and weight in 6 months. incredile how fast they grow!!!
OMG, Henry's getting cuter and cuter all the time! I love the one pic where you're holding his hands and he's looking up at you. You and the missus done a fine job there, Zoom!
Photic 05-18-2005, 06:42 PM I was just wondering how I could I put a second engine cover on my existing one. Like a cover, cover. Doing this I was obviously thinking.. I don't want to have to remove the first one.. It would defeat the purpose. I then starting thinking about a cover for the cover cover, and I just had to slap myself with a used spatula because that is just silly. Who would ever want a cover cover cover... God.. GEEZE.. MAN!..
zoom44 05-18-2005, 06:46 PM thanks phee
but apparently the wife thinks having our pics spread about to thousands of people we dont know good be a security issue. what kind of world do we live in dammit! cant even share a few pics of your kid with people you havent met:(
photic people already sell those. they got ones that look like carbon fiber and cover the original as well as the battery cover and the oem airbox etc. pittifully stupid but to each his own i guess
Let's do a PNW Rx8 meet....within a month? :)
Razpewton 05-18-2005, 06:50 PM OMG! Has it been that long? He's gotten so big!
Where DOES the time get to?

After that you should really look into getting a trace buster buster buster... ;)
...and I just had to slap myself with a used spatula because that is just silly
Use a new spatula. They're not broken in yet, so the slap is MUCH better. ;)
Zoom, I understand your wife's concern. I think it's fine to have the pics out there to share with people, but I will tell you there is no one more fearful, more vulnerable, and more easy to react than a first-time mom. As laid-back as she may have seemed at one time, it all changes when the little person is born. Password protect the pics and maybe she'll feel better ;)
Luftwaffle 05-18-2005, 07:24 PM After that you should really look into getting a trace buster buster buster... ;)
The moment you said that, Lou Diamond Phillips shit his pants and Marky Mark just got into some big trouble. :D
Seriously though, zoom, you need to vent a little bit, get some pent up rage out. I suggest banning everyone from the forum for 5 minutes. It's therapeutic and hilarious. :D

And just where the heck have you been?
Sorry - off-topic.
Rant on.
Gomez 05-19-2005, 12:42 AM And just what is it that make people wonder where you've been when you haven't been anywhere?? What's goin' on there.... :)
Just missed ya, that's all ;)
Smallville was pretty good last night - I'm enjoying the show more lately, as it's becoming a lead-in to Clark figuring things out, instead of just a series of adventures, from show-to-show.
Plus...
Lana....wow...SOOOO hot...want to touch the hiney...:)
rx8wannahave 05-19-2005, 09:13 AM lol...dmp...she is VERY good looking that's for sure!
See my other thread for my rant (Terrorist = COWARDS)
Here is a new one, why do many of the nations out there think that terrorist will leave them alone...don't they know that in time, if they are not confronted...they will continue to kill and kill...and kill? Either this generation defeats the "terrorist methods" as a justified mean of attack, or else the world falls into an age of insecurity and great evil.
END RANT
zoom44 05-19-2005, 11:24 AM this is not your rant thread !! get out!!
rx8wannahave 05-19-2005, 11:27 AM Ouch...so this is only your rant thread...sorry for ranting in your rant, lol
zoom44 05-19-2005, 11:27 AM actually i think my rant is done for now. im sure there will be more by next week but now it all doesnt seem that important. i will relate to you what happened last night. pasting it from another conversation so i dont have to type it all again
Henry did the coolest thing last night. we were sitting on the floor and henry was kinda scrunghing his way around. he doesnt quite crawl yet. anyway he scrunches over to me. grabs my pants and hauls himself closer and up til hes sitting. then reaches and grabs my shirt. then a little higher then a little higher. pulling himself up little by little til he was standing and looking right at me eye levle to eye level:D:D: then he laughed :D stayed standing up for a few more minutes then just kinda plopped back down. he has stood up at our urging before but this was the first time he did it all on his own:)
being a dad is cool.
mandy24 05-19-2005, 11:37 AM How old was Henry again 18??? LOL
8is>enuff 05-19-2005, 11:44 AM I hear some sort of metallic clatter at certain RPMs during acceleration. It seems to happen around 3250rpms and again at ~6500. Anyone else notice this? I did a search and couldn't find anything.
This IS the right place for this, right? :p
*ducks*
Cattywampus 05-19-2005, 11:44 AM Why do people insist on speeding and getting a ticket for it and decide to come on here to see if we think they should fight it or not. Hey, guess what, DON'T speed. It seems lately everyone that gets a ticket on here either bitches how the cop should have been busting drug dealers or pulling over drunk drivers. News flash, drunk drivers speed too. Why is it people on here, when they get a ticket they insist on saying "I" pay your salary. Jacka$$ you don't pay our salary directly. You pay taxes which contribute to the salary. I pay peoples salary too. I buy a cheeseburger from burger king, I help pay thier salary. I buy stuff from Wal-Mart, wow I help pay their salary too. I pay taxes aswell. So don't speed, don't b!tch, and don't do stupid stuff on the public roads and we wont have these stupid questions anymore. Hope that helps:D

I'm not Hindu. But if I claimed to be a clued-up American, certain members would challenge the first part, and certain Canadians would say the whole concept is an oxymoron!
wintergrn 05-19-2005, 04:24 PM Is that an avatar? In Snow Crash, Neal Stephenson goes into a little explanation of an avatar being the manifestation of a god walking the earth; hence a good word for a representation of a person on the web. :) (ok, he had his characters "jacked in" to the "Metaverse", same thing...)
