A Chicks Car:@:@:@:@

Hey guys

Just thought I would tell my little story about what happened this weekend.
Its about 11:30 on a saturday night. Im walking to my 8 that is parked outside a friends condo. As I'm walking I see a guy walking also in the direction of my car. As I press the remote button to unlock the doors the guy says something to me. He asks me "IS THAT A MIATA" I was like WHAT (thinking to myself) I respond no its an RX8 then I get into my car start it up and the had my door opened because the guy was talking to me. He looks at my interior and liked what he saw. But then after liking my interior he turns to me and says "I LIKE IT BUT ITS MORE OF A CHICKS CAR, I WOULDNT DRIVE IT" That got me so furious in the inside. Although i have nothing against girls driving an Rx8 i wouldnt defenitely not dub it as being a chicks car. Then after that the conversation died down and the guy left.So theres my story. Just thought you guys would find this interesting and get a chuckle out of it.

This guy is quite the auto enthusiast! First he asks what kind of car it is, and then spews a comment like that.

I think the only way to have better dealt with that siruation would to have been given him an "Idiot" Napoleon Dynamite style.

Ever notice how stupid people are always the most opinionated?

But I digress....

A chicks car? In my case certainly. A great way to meet men who are forever walking up and asking questions about my Raquel! It would seem that the appeal of the car is universal for those with good taste and an eye for design/proportion/aesthetics.

Don't sweat it...The guy obviously isn't a car person as he didn't even know what type of car it was.

This reminds me of a situation that happened while I was in NFLD with my car in my relatives hometown (small town).
I went inside the local mall to the store to grab a gift for my uncle who let us stay at his house for the week. My wife stayed in the car and waited for me as I was just running in quickly. As usual the car was parked well away from all the other cars.
So the buggy boy comes over to my wife and starts talking to her about the car and how he likes it and commenting on this and that. So while she's talking to him these guys in a older civic pull up (92ish) and start talking to her saying "That's no S2000." It (Rx-8) can't perform as well . So my wife give's it back to him saying "Have you ever driven an S2000?" Driver of the civic says no". Then she says "Have you ever driven an Rx-8?" Driver of the civic says "no" She says "then how do you know?" He says something to effect that he read it in Car and Driver.....

My wife and the buggy guy start laughing at the guy in the civic after he pulls away just after the above conversation...

So as you can see, some people are a$$hats.

Okay so I'm willing to get flamed on this one but when I was looking at buying my RX8 I was worried that it did look like a chick car.
I agree with most of the comments this guy seemed like a real tool! What kind of person would say something like that to someone he didn't know unless he was try'n to start something or was trying to cover up his own pathic set of wheels.

However that being said ..... Yes I can see how some people could think it's a ckick car, I know I did. But then again I married my wife cause she looks like a chick so I figure I'm batting a 100!

If he lives in Tyler, TX he would be driving a Mustang.

Seriously, I have friends who drive Mustangs, but it seems like everytime I pull up next to one at a stop light they always want to race me.

They always have to put down the 1.3L Rotary that keeps up with their 3.8L V6's and 4.6L V8's.

On my way to school (2-5 minute drive) I see about 10-15 Mustangs. The # of RX8's I see is usually just 1 (happens to be mine).

Oh well. My thought on the RX8 being a girls car. Just because it has all the fancy looks and electronics doesnt mean it has to be a chick's car.

He was probably just jealous that you have one and he doesnt.

Sorry for going so far off topic. :P

I agree 100%. :D All of my guy friends are jealous of my car, asking how she's doing and wondering when they can drive (I just smile my girly smile and gently say, "Never." :D ) When another sports car pulls up next to me, the guy driver usually looks over and wonders how in the world a chick could be driving such a cool car. Then the female passenger looks over and smiles. Oh yes, I love this car.

The guys at work constantly ask me if I am going out to pick up chicks in my car. When I respond "no." They usually ask if they can. They're all middle-aged married men living vicariously through me! :D
