I have been lurking about for quite some time now, gathering information and reading everyone's opinions on the Rx8. I just want to say thanks for all the information that has been provided. I have learned alot.

I have a deposit on an 8 that is due in december, I would have gotten one sooner if had the funds, but at least I'm getting one. A friend of mine has an Rx7 and he introduced me to rotory engines, I was interested imediately. I then saw the Rx8 at the 2003 Detroit International Auto Show. Fell in love with it on sight, in fact, I had to go back once more just to see it again.

I have noticed that the main complaint about the 8 is it's lack of torque. I just have to say that if it has enough to spin the tires it has enough for me. I haven't had a car yet that could do that.

Lastly, I just thought I would mention that my girlfriend said she saw a winning blue Rx8 on the road the other day, (Saturday I think it was). She lives in alaska and she was coming home from anchorage. If she wasn't mistaken, and I doubt it (she is almost as obsessed with this car as I am), then that means the wait is over pretty soon. I can't wait to see one on the road myself.

Sorry about the length of the post, just wanted to give out some history.

Welcome :)

I've always done some research before major purchases. For the RX-8, this is where it's at.

Enjoy. Start posting from now on!

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your pending purchase.

We should give you lots of insight on the characteristics of the RX-8 real soon.

will do on the posting... :D

I cant wait to hear what everyone says about the car once they drive it. I've noticed alot of people are more interested in racing it, but I want to hear what people who just drive it have to say about it since that is what i'll be doing.

I picked the green one, cause
1) I thought it was a tight color (especially the mica flakes)
2) I figured it would be the most uncommon.

You are correct. The green is the rarest color. If you like dark/black then the green is a winner.

Me Too! :D Well, that and my wife picked the color when I couldn't decide. But I went with it for these reasons.
