So, I just got orders to deploy to Iraq, again, leaving on Tuesday. It's no big deal, it'll be my fourth trip over there; the short notice thing kind of sucks, but it's the nature of the business in my particular military specialty.

Here's what does suck however:

My RX-8 is still down at Mazsport having the turbo installed!!! Now, I have a wife who will be able to go and pick the car up for me when it's ready, so it won't have to sit down in Scott's garage in Tampa for months on end until I come back. But somebody (my wife) is going to get to drive my turbo'd -8 before I do! Obviously, Scott will drive it first, for a test drive, but you know what I mean. My wife said I was being childish when I complained about it, but what does she know? Nothing, that's right. At least, nothing about cars. Oh, and while we're on the subject of general unfairness, I have two tickets to see Episode III at midnight on Wednesday. Guess I don't need those any more either. But, who knows; now that they have movie theaters set up at bases over there, maybe I'll be able to catch it there (with 400 other sweaty dudes wearing body armor and helmets); good times, good times.

Peace in the Middle East! You guys take it easy...

Well, be careful over there. 4 tours, that's something; don't get complacent. And come back to enjoy your turbo'd ride.

Peace in the Middle East!

Wouldn't that be nice :D

Be safe.

Well seeing as I have been on active duty in the Air Force for over 16 years and have deployed just last year and will later this year be spending 12 months in Korea without my family..."Thanks for serving with me" fits rather perfectly I think!

Yea, it's funny how my emotional reactions have changed with each new deployment. The first time, I was excited, because it was my first combat deployment (and everyone is retarded like that on their first one). The second time I was more nervous, because I knew what I was getting into. The third time, I was just kind of ambivalent about the whole thing. This time, I'm outright annoyed, because I'm tired of that stupid place and the stupid people who won't just let the war be over (and, by association, let me go home and stay home). But, the job is the job, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

My uncle did that 2 years ago. He was a Master Sergeant 1st shirt. After doing 20 years he spent a year in Seoul. I guess he had to do some kind of overseas duty.

Be safe, take care, and come back home soon!

Too bad your car's in Florida; I'd gladly offer to pick it up and drive it home for you if you're concerned your wife won't give it the attention it deserves. ;)
