View Full Version : Recommendations on back end
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 02:14 PM hey guys,
i'm doing a mix and match, and i'm going to go with mazdaspeed side skirts with a tsunami front bumper... but i don't know what i should go for the back.
i have a euro lip already, and i don't plan on getting the ms spoiler or any other spoiler. i like the simple look
so which back end do you think will go great with the Tsunami front and the ms side skirts.
all opinions welcome!!
mikeb 05-12-2005, 02:16 PM I like the veilside version one rear
also the autoexe rear is cool
zoom44 05-12-2005, 03:09 PM Get teh Fabulous Rear!!!! now available from mazdaparts.com /rx8garage.net/ thew :D
mikeb 05-12-2005, 03:11 PM zoom
did you order that rear yet?
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 03:29 PM did i order it yet? No, i ordered side skirts and the front bumper... but i don't know what to do about the back yet. i have a borla exhaust ... if that helps with the back recommendations.
Outlaws eXtreme 05-12-2005, 04:20 PM Veilside rear would look good.. I like INGs+1, but it doesn't flow with the MS sides.
TRU681 05-12-2005, 04:24 PM I like the veilside version one rear
also the autoexe rear is cool
2nd that. Veilside rear looks nice.Autoexe is awesome too.
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 05:50 PM all those back ends are nice... but i don't think they'll match the setup that i have...
Should i just go along and do the appearance package back... or just the rear end of the ms kit??
autoexe might look good... but the back end of the autoexe looks "friendly" while the tsunami bumper looks semi-aggresive... like an autobahn mixed with ms.
what do you guys think about the entire setup with the ms back?
mikeb 05-12-2005, 07:36 PM I love the ms rear
but it is kinda common now
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 07:41 PM i haven't seen one yet... but i hear so much about it being common, so i decided to go with the tsunami front. Also, i love the autobahn, but constantly looking at me made it seem dull and plain - so i took the best of the two - mazdaspeed with autobahn, and i think it yielded the tsunami front. also , i love that it DOESN'T have the corner lights... that's a plus!
finally, i decided to go with ms sideskirts b/c i bought the authentic one for 350 (slightly damaged) and since i have to paint the tsunami front anyway, why not just do the side skirts too? So it worked out well i think...
So mike, you think the tsunami front, ms side and rear will flow?? i love your spoiler too man - but i want to keep it simple, so i'm gonna stick with my euro lip.
mikeb 05-12-2005, 07:50 PM you are right the tsunami front is kinda a mix of ms and autobahn
and yes the ms rear would totally work with your set up
keep us posted
drupnoy1 05-12-2005, 07:52 PM hey where did you get the euro lip at? i might want to get one someday!
zoom44 05-12-2005, 08:04 PM mike -no i didnt order it yet. waiting to see if my money comes in. if not then no rear for me:(
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 08:06 PM i got it on ebay when the rx8 was initially introduced in the us... about 1/2 affter it was out. i paid an arm and a leg for it. $350 or $375 i believe. but i love it. Also, for me, i didn't have to drill any holes b/c i sanded and scraped off all the clips that needed to be plugged into the trunk lid, and used heavy duty auto-double sided foam tape, and it's been 1.5yrs with no problem or signs of falling...
at times, you can find it on the UK rx8 forum, or any european auction site because this lip spoilers are standard on euro-spec rx8's.
and mikeb... damnit, all the nice rx8's are in Cali... it's good and bad b/c i've yet to see an rx8 with more than a appearance package to it. but, i plan to get everything within the next 2 months, so i will definitely post pictures when it's available.
thanks for the help and opinions everyone.
brothervoodoo 05-12-2005, 08:11 PM Go with Absolutely Fabulous....

Moostafa29 05-12-2005, 08:16 PM How about the R-Magic rear. I don't believe its too common, but looks pretty good to me.
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 08:31 PM where can i find the fabulous rear and how much do they run for?? the reason i'm sticking with ms is: it's nice, and it comes pre-painted... but yea, where can i find the fabulous rear for sale at a good price?
zoom44 05-12-2005, 09:06 PM check with mazdaparts/thew in the vendors section:) its not on his site now because they are re-doing the site. but he can now get it:)
jaehyun127 05-12-2005, 09:34 PM he still hasn't responded back to me...
does anyone know how much he will price the fabulous rear?
or, how much he sells GOLD MEMBERS the rear Mazdaspeed diffuser?
zoom44 05-12-2005, 11:58 PM he sent me a price on it. ill get that on tomorrow for you.
jaehyun127 05-13-2005, 12:02 AM thanks a lot zoom44.. you've been very helpful!!
truemagellen 05-13-2005, 01:06 AM the Fabulous rear listing will be on www.mazdaparts.com in about 25 mins :D
rx8spiritR 05-13-2005, 01:21 AM if you want the clean and simply look, the MS Rear will match your sideskirt very well, www.rotaryextreme.com have a carbon fiber one for $900.
truemagellen 05-13-2005, 01:47 AM ok just a few more mins :p
truemagellen 05-13-2005, 02:03 AM ok it might be up by the morning but I am going to bed before I can post the link...look at www.mazdaparts.com in the rx8 garage and it may be up :)
jaehyun127 05-13-2005, 02:07 AM hey guys... i'm looking at sites, and i think it's gonna be between the Ings+1 rear or the ms rear. does anyone now if the INGS rear is like the appearance package just for the sides, or if the exhaust plastic shroud thing gets replaced as well?? do you guys thinks the hybrid is worth it for the rear? i mean, i dont' really scrape the rear...
also, does anyone know any good vendors for the ings rear?
Outlaws eXtreme 05-13-2005, 02:13 AM Rear, the Hybrid really isn't necessary since it will never get hit or curbed... unless you think you'll backup into something.
The Ings is a replacement for the side rears... no cutting involved. With the MS rear, once you go with that, you will have to cut things, and never look back. Or you can go with a replica rear and have an entire rear bumper replacement. That way if you ever decide to go another route, you can.
Outlaws eXtreme 05-13-2005, 02:15 AM You can get any of the parts from Thew.. he can get anything and everything. Even if you might pay slightly more with Thew, you will at least get the service and attention that no other vendors I've come across gives you on JDM aftermarket parts. Contact him for the special stuff... if it's MS stuff, some of the other vendors on this forum provides good prices too.
jaehyun127 05-13-2005, 02:17 AM yes outlwas, i agree with you... and thanks for your input. i think because of your guide, i'm gonna go with the fiberglass rear... i mean, the rear doesn't really scrape right??
However, for the ms suspension, the rear sits about an inch lower than the front.. i dont know why... (i have the ms suspension)
Lastly, do you guys know any vendors for the INGS... or is "rotaryextreme.com" the best one out there?
thanks all and to all>>> do you guys think that the TSUNAMI FRONT, MS SIDES, INGS REAR would look nice?? i mean, i'm doing the full mix and match here... haha
and anybody have any input on the fiberglass rear splash panels for the INGS kit? or is $100 WORTH the investment for the rears? (i am on a very very tight budget) so what do you think? and what would you do?
truemagellen 05-13-2005, 02:18 AM ings http://www.mazdaparts.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=RX-8+Garage:Body+Kits+and+More
Outlaws eXtreme 05-13-2005, 03:24 AM Heck, if it's only 100 bucks more, I'd just save up and go for the better material. But that's just me... go for the best, and not have to think about "what if I got the other one."
jaehyun127 05-13-2005, 03:38 AM your words never cease to amaze me... you're right on that too.. and knowing me, i'll regret that for the rest of my car.
i'm waiting on mazdaparts.com right now... but meanwhile, so i can compare, does anyone know any other sites that has great prices for the INGS rear mudguard - while shipping doesn't rape me as well...?
thanks guys...
i'm wondering what that would look like though... i think it'll be nice... no?
Tsunami front, ms side, ings rear... and for the cherry on top, the euro lip spoiler...
yum.
rx8spiritR 05-13-2005, 04:16 AM get a rear fog light too. or a rear accent, it'll be nice. did you change your wheels?
jaehyun127 05-13-2005, 04:27 AM I love the stock rims... but maybe in the future. i have a rear accent as well... so it'll go well i think.
zoom44 05-13-2005, 12:36 PM oh sweet teh fab rear is urethane!!! i cant wait now. my deal has to go thru!!!:)
truemagellen 05-13-2005, 01:10 PM oh sweet teh fab rear is urethane!!! i cant wait now. my deal has to go thru!!!:)
you would be the first outside of Japan to have one I bet too, cool!
jaehyun127 05-14-2005, 07:47 PM honestly, i dont' think the fabulous rear is nice. i keep looking at it, and it looks very "plastic-y" and when you see it from the side... i don't know, i keep looking at it, at first i loved it, but as i keep looking... it keeps getting uglier and uglier... just my 2c.
finally, it looks like the two little grooves on the sides of the rear -- looks like a cheap imitation of the front of the 350z. it doesn't blend with the body of the 8 b/c (besides the vents) the 8 doesn't have sudden grooves like that... that's how i feel
anyone know of any good INGS+1 vendors? i'm trying to get the rear of the INGS+1 kit, but i can't find any good prices on it.
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 01:31 AM I think the fab rear looks good...I think anytime you have a white vehicle, you have to be very careful because it is easy to make your car look trashy...with any other color the slots are a black and blend in or accent correctly...with white it is a contrast overkill
the INGS+1 kit is expensive...the prices through www.mazdaparts.com is going to be pretty much the lowest you will find (factor in shipping prices)...but that is what you get for when you are buying a high quality kit...still cheaper than mazdaspeed though :)
jaehyun127 05-15-2005, 01:37 AM hi magellen, i think actually that revolution motorsports has the greatest price. the wait is long though, i think... the price is $501.90 shipped from japan for the hybrid aero...
i dont' know if i'm gonna buy from mazdaparts.com b/c they are taking f'ing forever. i've emailed them 3 times, im'ed him 2 times, and pm'd 2 times.. still no f'ing response... way to take care of the customer right?? ::sigh::
also, Bulletproof automotive has great prices as well... even for the autoexe kit!!

mazdparts is going through a major server upgrade/website upgrade/transfer...I'm sure he will address your needs very soon...but one thing you have to understand...in the aftermarket parts world most is JDM and so wait times are insane
Moostafa29 05-15-2005, 02:24 AM I think the fab rear looks good...I think anytime you have a white vehicle, you have to be very careful because it is easy to make your car look trashy...with any other color the slots are a black and blend in or accent correctly...with white it is a contrast overkill

Not after paint...TRUST ME! :(
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 02:29 AM Not after paint...TRUST ME! :(
forgot about paint :p :o
jaehyun127 05-15-2005, 02:36 AM is rosenthalmazda.com the cheapest place for the ms rear diffuser? that's the cheapest place i can find w/ shipping... and that's about $750ish shipped.
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 02:49 AM is rosenthalmazda.com the cheapest place for the ms rear diffuser? that's the cheapest place i can find w/ shipping... and that's about $750ish shipped.
that part is 730 at FLP (Rosenthal)...shipping is $20?
jaehyun127 05-15-2005, 02:51 AM damnit, i can't recall where i saw a price of $750 shipped.. damnit.
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 02:56 AM well it is $715 at mazdaparts.com and shipping will be around $40
so $755
(did I mention I love mazdaparts :p)
that is painted too not primer
jaehyun127 05-15-2005, 02:59 AM hey, is mazdaparts.com the site that offers rx8club.com members a special discount and gold pricing for their "members"? if so, is that the gold member price?
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 02:59 AM here is the link: http://www.mazdaparts.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=660000-1112606399
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 03:00 AM that is regular price...it isn't listed as gold pricing on the item (has to be in description)
jaehyun127 05-15-2005, 03:01 AM so was it rx8store.com that offered gold pricing to their customers... damnit, i can't get a hang of this thing... anyway, which direction would you go? INGS rear or MS rear?
truemagellen 05-15-2005, 03:09 AM so was it rx8store.com that offered gold pricing to their customers... damnit, i can't get a hang of this thing... anyway, which direction would you go? INGS rear or MS rear?
rx8store.com/mazdaparts.com/rx8garage.net all link to the same store...mazdaparts.com they are consolidating as we speak to a new massive server that is why email responding has suffered in the past week
but gold pricing is only for certain items anyway
as for the rear? I can't decide...I like the stock look so the ings+1 is nice because it doesn't deviate too much
while the ms one gives it a 'hardcore' look and really completes the MS kit off...
so really u can't go wrong either way :D
