I just sold my car today. I put it on the chopping block this weekend with the expected delivery of the RX-8's this week. I didn't expect it to sell so fast, but better now, so I can use it as part of the down payment.

If ithis car doesn't come this week, I'm screwed!!!!

Just curious.... What means did you use to advertise your car? and any hints/tips on what you did to help sell it faster?

I'm in similar status, sold my Miata and mini-van anticipating delivery (and taking a couple weeks to sell them). Instead they both sold in a 48 hour period. We put the van on a local car lot. (Actually just a place a lot of people park their cars that they're trying to sell). The Miata went through word of mouth.

It really helped that I priced them about 1/2 way between fair and good condition retail blue book, both were very clean, and we used our savings to pay them off first so there were no lien/loan hassles to deal with.

Right now my wife, 2 kids, and I are "sharing" a Subaru Outback until the RX-8 comes. Hopefully I'll fit in it, we'll all like the test drive and then we'll buy it. Otherwise I'm going to be taking a hard look at a WRX. I gotta say it sucks to walk or ride a bike 5 miles to work in southern Arizona right now. (105 degrees yesterday)

96 VW Passat Wagon..... Family Man :) We got another wagon a year ago, so I've been buying my time in purchasing another vehicle.

The car was in good condition. It looked really good (minor scratches and door dings) and it was fully loaded.

I priced it right in the middle between personal resale value and dealer trade in (Edmunds.com). I probably could have got 3 or 4 hundred more, but oh well. I'm satisfied.

There is this local auto fair in my area. You pay $30 bucks, and they will house the key if anyone wants to look at it. If anyone is interested in looking further, than your phone number is on the car spec sheet. There are usually at any given time (weekends only) 150 - 175 cars on the lot.

I've sold two cars there. Both in less than 48 hours.

Good Luck
