Hi all,

I'm looking into getting an 8, but I wanted to get a couple of viewpoints. Did any one here own a 3rd Gen RX-7(TT)? I had a '93 and loved it. What comparisons can you make regarding the 8? What is better than, worse than the 7?

Thanks.

If you had a 3rd gen and say you loved it without a but, you must have done something to please the rotary gods. Quickly go buy a RX-8 and stick a pair of GT42's on it ... you're invincible!

I also owned a '93 RX-7 and this topic has been discussed quite a bit; here, read this thread:

I like to drive the FD for its exceptional power and better appearance IMO over the RX-8. Pretty much i just got the RX-8 cuz it is a new rotary car with nice/new interior and no rattles/noise.

Nonetheless if you want a hassle free (in comparison to the FD) then the RX-8 obviously is the choice to make. The posted thread above has better input though:o .

Hehe, yes. I meant that I loved it when it was on the road. I did drop almost as much as the car cost me in repairs/maintinance, BUT there's nothing like the feeling of that high-revving rotary spin up to that sweet buzz at redline. Especially when that high rev is seasoned with an amazing rush of boost. It's like driving a freaking sport bike with four wheels.

chances are, you won't hear the buzz at redline. its insanely quiet. i want a buzzer like an FB has.

Somebody should wire up the buzzer to one of those bass shaker things ... then mount a couple of them under the seats!
