View Full Version : 19x9.5 + 19x10.5 Volk GT-Vs
ray_7 05-07-2005, 09:53 PM 19x9.5 with 245/35/19 and 19x10.5 with 275/30/19 Toyo CT-01.
Tein Type Flex coilovers set to lowest.
Took at least 4 hours to fit them without hitting the fenders or the inside walls.
Teaser pic until I take better pictures with better camera.
TR1GGERx1 05-07-2005, 10:14 PM pretty freakin wide... stop teasin jus showww !
\\Konig\\ 05-08-2005, 12:15 AM so how did you get the rear wheels to fit?
side pics please!
ray_7 05-08-2005, 12:23 AM by 'thinning' the fenders.
you know those rubbers inside the fenders that's suppose to cover the back part of the walls? those are gone... rolled the fender lips to the max... also knocks the fenders around .5cm... negative cambers so it doesn't come out too far and make the wheels like this / \
more pics will come later tonight.
Fanman 05-08-2005, 02:44 AM Seems that the camber on the rears is off.
TR1GGERx1 05-08-2005, 04:05 AM Seems that the camber on the rears is off.
jdm drift styleee haha.
mikeb 05-08-2005, 04:42 AM those rims are HUGE
lennon 05-08-2005, 07:49 AM Wow! Your rear wheels seem to have the wrong offset or the rim is just simply too wide. Careful man!
DjRx8 05-08-2005, 09:25 AM S-T-A-G-G-E-R-I-N-GGGGG!!!
So... is it ok to drive?
Just jokin'!
canaryrx8 05-08-2005, 09:40 AM how on earth can those not rub, they're sticking out past the fender ?!?!
BlueBandit05 05-08-2005, 01:13 PM what if u hit a bump?
ray_7 05-08-2005, 01:17 PM @djrx8:
yup it is great to drive infact! shud be the teins... =)
@canaryrx8:
at first they did rub after i rolled the fenders and removed those rubber thingy in the inside walls, then we went on to thin the fender even more... removing screws and more rubbers!!!
@bluebandit05:
if i go straight on and with speed i *think* it will hit the fenders, but of course i'm not dumb enough to do that. i always take bumps at angles.
canaryrx8 05-08-2005, 01:25 PM man that's crazy, but if they work out good for you, I'm sure it looks insane :)
IZoomZoomI 05-08-2005, 01:32 PM is that a 6series bimmer in front... sweet! wish you had better pics, can't really tell much besides the rims looks friggin huge. Great job.
mikeb 05-08-2005, 08:36 PM so where are the more pics
TR1GGERx1 05-08-2005, 09:24 PM i wanna see more angless....

ray_7 05-08-2005, 10:50 PM @izoomzoom1:
yes, that's a 6series... ;)
@xero:
my front doesn't rub at all...
ok, as promised, here are some more pictures taken at various angles. couldn't find my trusted digicam, so just went on and used my handycam.
ray_7 05-08-2005, 10:54 PM and some more...
Fanman 05-08-2005, 11:18 PM Dude, your camber is seriously messed up.
IZoomZoomI 05-08-2005, 11:19 PM those are friggin wide... looks great from the side though. gotta love those coilovers
BaronVonBigmeat 05-08-2005, 11:22 PM Hmmm I guess 70's style is coming back.
You need to get some 17" Cragars, jack the rear up, and make sure you've got tires with white lettering (Hoosiers or Mickey Thompsons) sticking way out. Mud flaps too.
TR1GGERx1 05-08-2005, 11:23 PM haha i love em. sheesh. good job. haha camber like that is jdm yoo hahaha.
slllygrl10 05-08-2005, 11:38 PM Wtf

ray_7 05-09-2005, 12:02 AM lol, well, i had to do that camber or else those fatties won't fit.. :)
TxRx8 05-09-2005, 12:15 AM lol, well, i had to do that camber or else those fatties won't fit.. :)
Crazy setup man! Be careful with those bumps.:D
Mindtrip 05-09-2005, 12:54 AM I dont know, looks a little too "low-riderish" for me
rotarenvy 05-09-2005, 04:44 AM nice wheels.
too wide for anything other than a show car.
XDEEDUBBX 05-09-2005, 05:08 AM dam i thought my car cambered! haha anyway..those rims are insane!!!! jealous!
oyester 05-09-2005, 06:52 AM wah keren!
takahashi 05-09-2005, 07:11 AM I think it looks like what TR1GGERx1 has in his avatar :p
ray_7 05-09-2005, 11:29 AM @rotarenvy:
its daily driven my friend.. :) never thought about putting it in any show at the moment...
@xdeedubbx:
well, go put some more camber man, lol. i just checked the sheet after the balancing stuff, the rears have -3 cambers, crazy....
@takahashi:
maybe his avatar inspires me...:P
modena 05-09-2005, 11:43 AM Got any pictures of the rear in close up? (rolled fender pict would be nice)
I still have a small rub on the plastic inner part on the rear of the car....
Would like to see what you have done to fix it.
ray_7 05-09-2005, 12:42 PM @modena:
yup, thats the part where i have problem too at first. we decided to cut the part of the plastic where it rubs with the tires, and move the position of the screw that connect the top and bottom part of the vender.
actually, i just realised that the guy who did this sprays some undercoating (black) after everything is done, so i think the pic won't show whats being done to the fender...and also my tires are so close to the fender i dont think i can take pictures, sorry...:(
crossbow 05-09-2005, 01:06 PM So what happens when you hit a pothole and you crack your clearcoat?
canaryrx8 05-09-2005, 01:41 PM hmm, after seeing more pics it looks off to me, your car looks like it is all wheels, the wheels/coilovers were a good choice, but I would have gone with something that tucked a little better instead of something you have to gut the buhjeezus out of your fenderwells to make fit. Man if your car had that stance on some wheels that fit a little better it would be beyond insane looking. The car looks ok now, but those wheels dominate it which is really not the reason to have aftermarket wheels, they're supposed to enhance, not steal the show from the rest of the car. (just my thinking, take it for what its worth)
mikeb 05-09-2005, 08:12 PM love the volks buddy
ray_7 05-09-2005, 09:31 PM i'm trying to get widebody done to my car. maybe another 1 or so cm to the fenders so they cover the rims...
TR1GGERx1 05-10-2005, 01:41 AM I think it looks like what TR1GGERx1 has in his avatar :p
haha oh they do. jdm drifterrrrr
NAVILESRX8 05-10-2005, 05:18 PM I love it
mikeb 05-10-2005, 07:15 PM who is gonna do a widebody for you????
ray_7 05-10-2005, 09:34 PM who is gonna do a widebody for you????
those guys that did these rims to me, they can do body as well...
Mikelikes2drive 05-10-2005, 10:32 PM ahhh i wish i could afford wheels right now haha congrats
TR1GGERx1 05-10-2005, 10:38 PM those guys that did these rims to me, they can do body as well...
hmm wonder how ur's will come out
StealthFox 07-14-2005, 06:38 PM nice rims haha
ElusiveFX 07-14-2005, 07:17 PM uhh, someone sold you the wrong offset.... Nice wheels but seriously dude your sitting at like 0 offset of something.
DaveRX8 07-16-2005, 11:52 AM Ill post my pics in about a week or so. I got the same wheels but 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. on sunlight silver with mazdaspeed kit and lowered. Oh by the way, how much did u pay for those? just want to compare it to what i paid
epitrochoid 07-16-2005, 02:59 PM wrong offset? theyre freakin 10.5" wide!
way wider than i'd ever go...but they look good. RIP your tires though
ray_7 07-17-2005, 12:18 AM @DaveRX8:
i paid ard US$4000 for both the rims and tires...
20sin 07-24-2005, 10:36 AM si biji
truemagellen 07-27-2005, 11:42 AM hey ray7 where are you located?
RX4life 07-29-2005, 07:16 AM there is no way your car can flip-over.. haha.. thats crazy wide stance.. i was concerned about putting 9.5 in the back and you managed to do it in the front... WOW.. good job for trying someting new!!.. ;)
id do it if i could afford 4K$ ..some members on this board just dont understand the drifter trend nowadays....some peeps are just too old skool..
ray_7 08-04-2005, 01:24 AM hey ray7 where are you located?
i'm from jakarta, indonesia.
rotarenvy 08-06-2005, 07:41 PM so what offsett did you end up with on the front?
the rears are +22 are the front the same?
ray_7 08-06-2005, 09:16 PM yeah its the same offset on the front.
spoon_dc5 09-15-2005, 07:38 PM +22 on the front? so no problems with the front at all? any fender rolling or anything on the front?
ray_7 09-29-2005, 11:37 AM yes its +22 on the front... and no, i didn't do anything on the front... fits just nicely... =)
benduen 11-30-2005, 11:58 AM yes its +22 on the front... and no, i didn't do anything on the front... fits just nicely... =)
Sup man, how did you get +22 offset?? Even Volk doesn't make the GT-V in that offset. Maybe you are mistaken?:
volk rim sizes and offsets (http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/cgi2/sizeGuide.cgi?modelName=GTV)
shortcrakr 11-30-2005, 03:15 PM no rubbing here!
Endless Rotaries 11-30-2005, 10:35 PM I tried to fit this setup from a 350Z on my 8 but didn't have the balls to mod my rear fender. I have to hand it to you on the setup. That's seriously hardcore. Did you happen to mention what tire sizes you are running in this thread. Just got back from work so tired and too lazy to look around. lolz.
TeamRX8 12-01-2005, 10:55 PM 245/35 on 9.5" on the front and 275/30 on 10.5" in the rear, I won't win any prizes for saying this but IMO it's not the best choice to run wheels that wide for those tire sizes not to mention running a stagger setup on an RX-8, those 275's on 9.5" wheels with a low-mid 40mm offset range will fit well on all four corners without any rubbing inside or out on a lowered RX-8, no crazy alignment required, better handling balance, and you can rotate positions between all four corners
RX4life 12-02-2005, 04:37 AM im running 245 on a 9.5 rim.. and i think its perfect..just the right amount of stretch...275 is just a waste of money and unecessary for a 9.5 inch rim.
and the last thing on his mind is handling.. i think hes going for a look..not worried about the ride quality and camber...
some peeps here are soo reluctant to try new things or do something crazzy with their cars..
not everyone bought this car for its "amazing handling"... please keep that in mind. :)
btw im running a 30 offset on my 9.5 inch rim in the back.. and just needed to angle the fender lip slightly...to avoid rubbing since my car is on its lowest setting... the 8s fenders can easily accomodate upto 11 inch rims or a 20 offset with minor fender modification.
damn great looking rims man!, very nice! props dude.
stealthx32 06-30-2006, 01:56 AM Sorry to bump an old thread...
Just curious...what were your offsets?
800Degrees 07-06-2006, 09:09 AM It's not the tires - it's the wheels that are making that set up look too wide. I have 19s on my 8. 245/35/19 in the front; 275/30/19 in the back. It looks nothing like that:
Chamberlin 07-09-2006, 10:20 PM 800Deg. cool, that's the setup I am going with as well... what were you offesets for those wheels you have? Probably alot closer to +45 or +55 right?
What rim widths did you use?
I think the original poster's +22 offeset is what is accounting for the wide stance like you said...
