When i brake, i can hear a squeking sound which i think is coming from the back.
The car has only 9k on it and i wouldn't have thought it would be wear and tear of the brake pads.
I will take it to the dealer but thought i'd see if anyone has had this problem.

my car went to the dealer two times already for squeaking brakes. it was under warranty because it has a recall on it. first time they replace the brake pads and added some metal plate over it. Second time they reserviced the rotars. Now im taking it back again this coming monday. ill let u know how it goes. Each time it stopped making noise then it starts like a coupe days later.

I had squeaking brakes since 4000 miles. Not too loud, but annoying, esp. under light braking. Went to the dealer and got the new front pads at 9000 miles. After another 2000 miles, squeaking was back! So, got together with my buddy (you guessed right: squealing front brakes as well ! since it is also an RX-8...) and one early morning we did the brake bedding-in procedure... Nice blue film on the rotors and 1000 miles later, no squeal what-so-ever. Plus the brakes work even better. If it ever comes back, I know the cure now :)
For the procedure, so a search... It is simple but RISKY! Watch for the other traffic.......Put flashers on, they will have no idea what you are doing and will tend to not pass you...... Though they should....... signal them to pass you, don't brake hard in front of them. Almost no car has the brakes we do, plus the element of surprise.... not a good combo!
