That was an EVO in the 2nd vid passing him.

In the first vid there was WRX in front of the Mustang that pulled over to the side towards the end.

Hmm... when I drove in Japan, the hardest part for me was driving on the opposite side of the road. The only problem with RHD I had was when I would go to shift with my right hand without thinking.... and then smack it against the door panel. :o

I went to Scotland a couple of years back. Between the narrow streets, extremely steep hills, sitting on the wrong side of the car, driving on the wrong side of the road, and shifting with the wrong hand, the first couple of days was a very stressful driving experience. It took extreme amounts of concentration to do all of that at once, and not smash into something :D . And the first time I went through a bloody "round-about" on the highway, I thought I was going to die. Well the locals call them round-abouts, we called them circles-of-death. After a couple of days, I got the hang of it though.

Nice vids.

very nice videos! he had more understeer than understeer in the second video.

Kurinobu -- what modifications have you done to your car? From the picture you posted of you on the front straight it doesn't look like you have the original wheels.

Did anybody else notice how much the gear lever moves up and down under braking and accelerating? Didn't realize it moved that much.

Agree to 100%. Interesting in your mods

2 questions:

Could you tell me why you like the rear suspension to 9kg and front 11? Any reason? I am thinking 5 and 9 for my Tein flex. Any bad there?

Do you change your radiator and oil cooler that RX-8 party race recommend changing for their participants?

Thanks

Taka

I will write more detail of my suspention. Both front and rear use dual rate suspension and helper spring.
Primary rate of front suspension is 11Kg/mm and secondary rate is 9Kg/mm,primary of rear is 9Kg/mm and secondary is 6Kg/mm.
These suspetion rate derived from my use case and required 1G stroke of suspension system. The required 1G stroke for rear is 65mm(70mm is better) and front is 60mm.
If you want to down your RX-8 hight by using Tein flex I recommend 4K for rear, front is OK for any rate.
I heard from my friend that Tein flex rear shock's hight adjustment area is small
so once he used 6K for rear he could not down hight from stock condition.

I have changed radiator and added oil cooler for my RX-8.
Japanese model of RX-8 has only left side of oil cooler.
Adding other side of oil cooler significant reduced oil temparature in hot climate.

I used to buy brake pads from internet store because of it shows cheepest price.
The price of Endless's CC-R is 30,300yen for both front and rear.

This link is my favorite internet store.

Thank you for that.
I think there is not much of a difference for the front spring rate too.

What do you think of the Fujita Engineering FM801 (it is 10kg front and 6 kg rear). Will that be very bumpy on the road?

Which radiator did you use?

Thanks

Hi,
I did use hama's suction cup camera mount for in car camera.
It's very convenient and enough strength to support cam.
please see this link for detail info.

ah i see, there is a similar product in the US:

http://www.chasecam.com/mounts-suction.htm

do you attach the mount to the rear window? do you use any kind of tethers to secure the camera in case the suction cup comes loose?

sorry about all the questions, I really want to set up a in-car camera for my track runs next month at VIR, and then be able to share my footage with everyone here :D

Yes,I did attach the video mount to the rear window and I did not use tethers.
I've never experienced my camera mount became loose during track run.

My RX-8 has Mazdaspeed's radiator.

thanks for the answer about the pads. I'll go for endless as soon as my MS pads are finished... expensive company but it has great products...

Primary rate of front suspension is 11Kg/mm and secondary rate is 9Kg/mm,primary of rear is 9Kg/mm and secondary is 6Kg/mm...

those values are pretty high. you made me wonder now, how my hipermax II coilovers are going to handle in the track (spring rate 8kg/mm fr 5kg/mm re)...

It was not race kind of practice period for members what Suzuka says "Challenge Club".
We should close driver side of window during track driving and we may open other windows.I used to open passenger side of window for ventilation.

Hi,
My RX-8 has height adjustable shocks and stiffer suspention also it has YOKOHAMA ADVAN NEOVA AD07 245-40-18 tires.
Engine and differential are stock condition.
