Looking for a good reputable Mazda Service shop in SoCal... closest ones to me are Mazda of Long Beach or Cerritos... anyone have any comments on these or recommend any others??

I've been to Cerritos 4-5 times. Very good service and people. Before was Alhambra, near my work, but small shop and missed on some details. Possible safety neglect issues drove me away. Bought from Culver City, where I took my RX-7s for years, but since their head rotary mechanic was retiring, their service has been non-existant. HTH.

Took mine to Alhambra for my forst oil change. Have been there before for my RX7 and P-5. See Spencer (service writer).

usually take mine to cerritos. we have the warrenty dept guy we know from this forum. his name is robert. also a mechinic named alex. a "very" great guy who is always willing to help out. service is awesome i think at cerritos.

Alhambra is also close to work for me, and thought about that one too... what kind of safety neglect was it??I asked for 37 lbs front and 35 lbs rear and they gave me 35 lbs right SIDE and 30 lbs left SIDE. :eek: Not too stable a configuration if you're doing some hard braking at normal speeds, let alone down from 127 mph, like I found myself doing a bit after that visit!! Maybe they don't know this is a SERIOUS performance vehicle? Worse, when I had my hydraulic systems flushed (see below) at Cerritos, they told me that Alhambra had LEFT OUT a major framebolt :mad: when Alhambra had done the dampner TSB. Sure Spencer's a nice guy and all and Ricky Trieu is very accomodative (see my positive posts about them, elsewhere), but ....

Note: Cerritos isn't "perfect". Instead of flushing my brake and clutch systems, as clearly requested, they changed out my transmission and differential fluids. Oh, well, I guess they ARE both "fluids". :confused: Required a second vist to get that corrected. (Btw, I didn't quibble about the cost of the unwanted work. Having been in the auto repairs business waaay back when, I realize how tight margins are, so tend to let a "good" shop just charge me whatever they want. If they get some extra pizza and beers, then so much the better. :rolleyes: I figure, if you want premium service, you need to plan on forking out premium $s. If you have any problems with that, then get a Neon. ;) )

Steve and Juan at Long Beach Mazda are the most professional, most friendly, and polite service agents I've encountered at ANY DEALER regardless of make. They will take their time to hear you out and fix issues whether it's something small like rattles or fogged up headlights big like noises coming from the Tranny. And they actually do a great job on the free car wash! Give them a try!
