View Full Version : average cost for an rx8 longbord1 04-29-2005, 06:35 PM how much would u say a plain old rx8 with the whole MS kit spoiler and all would cost? i need a price for my dad Glyphon 04-29-2005, 06:42 PM look here (http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/speedDisplayAccessoryCategoryList.action?carLineCo de=RX8&startModelYear=2004&endModelYear=2005) and here (http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/handleHomeFlash.action?vehicleCode=RX8&modelYear=2005) Rupes 04-29-2005, 06:52 PM MS kit doesn’t come with the RX8, you have to buy it separately. Expect to pay at least $30,000 for both (if your lucky). Jedi54 04-29-2005, 07:15 PM Expect to pay at least $30,000 for both (if your lucky). Key words there were at least. My fully loaded RX8 is going to run me $32000 + TTL. Dad picking up the tab on this one? Rupes 04-29-2005, 07:18 PM Btw, if your dad wants to test out a turbo kit before buying it for you, I will be the guinea pig. I'm so nice sometime. :D \\Konig\\ 04-29-2005, 07:20 PM maybe his dad isnt too good with computers and wants his tech-savvy son to do some research for him online. mikeb 04-29-2005, 08:21 PM You can get a rx8 with the ms kit already on at some dealers but they mark it up like 5k when you can get the kit for around 2800.00 yourself Mugatu 04-29-2005, 08:21 PM what is with parents buying their kids $30,000 cars???? Reminds me of another owner who has one and is now bored with it, looking to get a Mini... ;) longbord1 04-29-2005, 11:40 PM well i guess he does kind of want to live vicariously through me and im going to be keeping this car for a while also im going to be paying him back PLUS he loves me :D anywho yeah thats about as much as i expected it to cost and its basically just as good asthe shinka except with a diffrerent appearence right? mike Discman2 04-29-2005, 11:45 PM well i guess he does kind of want to live vicariously through me and im going to be keeping this car for a while also im going to be paying him back PLUS he loves me :D anywho yeah thats about as much as i expected it to cost and its basically just as good asthe shinka except with a diffrerent appearence right? mike you have it all backwards. the shinka is the same, except witha different exterior and interior color longbord1 04-29-2005, 11:54 PM o i thought it had a different body also nevermind then IMO the shinka is kind of a rip off because u could prob get a totally unique paint job for the same additional dallors the shinka is StealthFox 04-30-2005, 12:10 AM the shinka isnt just a special paint job and interior trim joseight 04-30-2005, 07:25 AM i surely hope that your dad is looking to buy this car for himself. i dont know how old you are, but i hate it when i see parents buying $30K cars for their 16 and 17 year old kids. ive had to work for everything ive ever had (im 25 years old) and i see these kids now with no work ethic or sense of value because mommy and daddy picked up the tab for the first 25 years of their life. then they drive around with a sense of accomplishment because they have a nice car. its sickening and i feel sorry for them. *steps off of soap box* Mugatu 04-30-2005, 09:53 AM All i know is, I better not ever run into you on Long Island....or let me rephrase that....you better not ever 'RUN INTO ME' if daddy decides to get you an RX8. longbord1 04-30-2005, 01:50 PM lol i know how all of u feel in my town kids my age are driving around freakin escalades and trust me im not rich. either way my dad see that this is my dream car and i do have 2 jobs right now. im working at a camp and im also working at petland so im sure i will have at least half the price of the rx8 by the time he decides to buy it for me so it won't just be him paying for it trust me and i will end up paying him back for the whole thing. pluys i have to get good grades :D . anyway mugatu what do u mean never run into me lol camaro194 04-30-2005, 03:57 PM how are you managing to save up $15,000 by only working at a day camp and a pet store???? Unless he is buying it in a few years, I dont see how this is possible. \\Konig\\ 04-30-2005, 04:07 PM I like mugatu's sig but his post is meaningless. GL getting a RX-8 longbord1. Your going to love it, just make sure you get a manual transmission. longbord1 04-30-2005, 08:51 PM yup i will get a manual it would be stupid not too unless u have one leg. im getting the rx8 in 2-3 years so yeah StealthFox 05-01-2005, 02:18 AM All i know is, I better not ever run into you on Long Island....or let me rephrase that....you better not ever 'RUN INTO ME' if daddy decides to get you an RX8. read his post after yours, he seems derving enough, hell, he's gonna be paying for the damn thing over time anyway! geez the kid's actually working 2 jobs for the car and waiting 2-3 years...he's doing a LOT more than me...im 15 years old i did zero work, and i have to pay zero amount for the car, and my dad bought the car(not for me though, but because he liked the car himself and needed a new weekend car...) :( Discman2 05-01-2005, 04:13 AM If I ever see a 16 year old driving an RX8 I will shoot myself on the spot. MI_FamilyMan 05-01-2005, 09:01 AM yup i will get a manual it would be stupid not too unless u have one leg. im getting the rx8 in 2-3 years so yeah Good luck in your quest for a RX8, but my guess is in 2-3 yrs. something else might have caught your eye by then. Unless you plan on buying the car for the purposes of doing your own modifications, or tracking it etc. If they do come out with a higher output RX-8 someday, then you will be really torn I'm sure! longbord1 05-01-2005, 09:28 AM lol its not like the jobs happen at the same time camp is overt the summer and petland isn't lololl anyway this car is my dream car and if anything else catches my eye than its gonna be a sports car. Also the reason my dad wants to get it for me is because he knows he can make a dream come true because it really isn't that hard of a dream to fufill \\Konig\\ 05-01-2005, 12:12 PM Geez there are some selfish people on this board. Why can't you stand to see someone younger than you driving an RX-8? I can understand how the lame "He's young and stupid and gonna race it and crash" stereotype comes in, but there are some young guys in here who do appreciate the car for what it is. However, I do know some teens who do have a sports car, did not pay for it, and are not even satisfied with it. Now that is just stupid, and I can see how you could get mad considering you probably bought the car after working your ass off to get it. All this may not make sense, but I was bored and it seemed fitting. Flame on.... And what is up with mugatu threatening longbord and discman shooting himself in the foot? allmotorRX8 05-01-2005, 05:32 PM If I ever see a 16 year old driving an RX8 I will shoot myself on the spot. haha, ud better get a gun ready StealthFox 05-01-2005, 06:27 PM konig, how old are you. \\Konig\\ 05-01-2005, 06:38 PM 16 StealthFox 05-01-2005, 08:59 PM good job, do you actually daily drive a rx8? who funded it? Mugatu 05-01-2005, 09:01 PM I wasn't threatening him at all. I was saying I hope as a new driver he doesn't literally run into me with his lack of driving experience. StealthFox 05-01-2005, 10:10 PM mugatu, who is the guy in your avatars? \\Konig\\ 05-01-2005, 10:27 PM ah, I get it now. Sorry I misunderstood your post mugatu. The guy in the avatar is from that one movie called Zoolander. Stealthfox, I did not pay for my 8 but I do drive it daily. StealthFox 05-02-2005, 05:50 PM so does it belong to you or to whoever paid for it? and that guy seemed familiar... :p \\Konig\\ 05-02-2005, 06:54 PM its basically mine, although my dad can drive it whenever he feels like it is that how the situation is with your dad and the 8? StealthFox 05-02-2005, 06:59 PM well it will be that way when im about 17 or 18(i'll daily drive it and my dad will drive it whenever he likes) untill then its his weekend car and i fiddle with it and such and take it out whenever i like |
