View Full Version : Why must we live with Trolls?
RX-Hachi 04-29-2005, 02:19 PM Compared to other automobile forums, we sure have a lot of trolls that have settled in and now live with us.
I guess we RX-8 drivers are a more mature group. Instead of flaming the trolls back to their caves where they belong, we engage in intellegent discussion and debates. We feed them with interesting dialogue and allow them to thrive. Thus the trolls have camped out in our little forum. Day by day, night by night, they continue to steal away some of our joy.
It's interesting, we have several kinds of trolls on this forum:
- Young punk trolls: These are usually quickly exterminated.
- Turn coat trolls: Former RX-8 owners or 8 wannabees that no longer like the 8.
- Trolls in disguise: They hide among us, pretending to like the RX-8, but constantly belittle the 8 with subtle remarks.
- Senior Trolls: Self acknowledged trolls that have been allowed to stay as they break no forum rules. These trolls are almost the worst of the lot. Looked up to and defended by the lesser trolls, these are the trolls that are trickiest of all. They have nothing good to say, always slamming the 8 in one way or another. Yet because they do it in a civilized fashion, they continue to live among us. They even pretend to be our friends, but they are no friend of mine.
I think it’s overdue that we rid ourselves of some trolls. There should be a new forum rule. Once a member achieves Senior Troll status, they must wear a troll costume and dunce cap and carry the label of “ugly troll”. They can still live among us, but must be clearly identifiable so our junior members will not fall prey to their trickery. (Mods - are you listening?)

Speed-ER doc 04-29-2005, 02:32 PM So are you planning on outing and categorizing these trolls for all to see, or do we have to figure them out for ourselves?
The 8 rocks, btw!!!!!!
guy321 04-29-2005, 02:33 PM I can't be a troll then, because I hardly every talk about the RX-8!
Luftwaffle 04-29-2005, 02:39 PM I live under a bridge and eat billygoats, does that make me a troll?
rx8wannahave 04-29-2005, 02:42 PM Instead of flaming the trolls back to their caves where they belong
LOL!!!!
Personally, once you get use to the "trolls" you don't want them to go...they become family trolls...lol (while some I can do without...the baby trolls)
ZoomZoomH 04-29-2005, 02:42 PM kinda McCarthyism-ish aren't we....

What is the definition of a "Troll?" Someone who doesn't like the 8 or someone who doesn't own one?
...and who would enforce this? One of the MOD Trolls, or maybe the Owner-of-the-Website Troll? :D :D :D

I.e. they have to put on their Wizard hat and Robe. ;)
zoom44 04-29-2005, 05:03 PM maybe rx-hachi is a troll? calling people trolls is rather trollish behavior.....
Mistersql 04-29-2005, 05:19 PM Rx-Hachi who put pipi kaula in your corn flakes this morning?
I didn't really see any increase in troll posts lately. Also at the end of the day, it's only a forum and it's only a car. I usually don't even bother reading posts that are looking to start something.
MaHogoff 04-29-2005, 05:20 PM i just wish that chick in the red skirt would stop pounding that poor dude!

MaHogoff 04-29-2005, 06:03 PM Well, he glanced another chick obviously, or made some statement about another's hotness. Does that deserve the pounding? Uh, yeah probably.
Yeah! Get rid of em, every last one of em!

I have been dealing with some crappy stuff and now I'm finally getting through it and my work schedule has slowed down since I am done with all the testing I had been preparing for.
