What type of beer tastes best to you?

Newcastle Brown Ale.

My favorite beer is Stella

Is "malt" Olde English 800 and Colt 45 type of stuff?

Ale - Geary's Hampshire Ale to be exact.
Anchor Steam's good too.
I like stout too but it's too filling.

Stout is a meal in itself. Sheaf, Old Australian, Mackison, Ram's "Total Disorder Porter" - the darker and heavier the better.
This is making me thirsty...

Hoegaarden in the summer (in a clean glass out of the freezer), Palm in the winter (cellar temperature). Leffe Blonde all year. Sometimes, a Scotch CTS or a Kriek (Belle-Vue only - I'm from Brussels after all) for a change and only if available from the tap.

Cellis makes a good Hoegaarden alternative. It's from the same brewer after all (Peter Cellis).

Stella are very good in marketing and let the world think it's good Belgian beer. But it's just cat piss tasting pils.

Stella Artios (sp?) well, I can drink it, I don't have to be able to spell it.

Guiness is great and I absolutly love it, but I can't drink it in the states. It tastes like crap over here. I can only drink it in England/Ireland/Scotland wheree it's still fresh. So I had to go for the lager vote.

LOL...yes, I've tasted Bear and it taste NASTY! I do like eggnog during Thanks Giving and CHRISTmas. My dad makes it pretty strong...probably stronger than Bear, but Bear just taste nasty to me.

Bear does sound pretty gross, but I've never tasted it myself. I've never tasted dog either, though, and plenty of people seem to like it in certain countries, so to each his own I guess.

I'm a big fan of rye and wheat beer. For all you new england locals Red Hook's seasonal summer beer is an unfiltered rye beer. AWESOME.

Back from my college days visiting a friend who went to Penn State, we always drank Yuengling Lager. Now it's made it's way into NJ and other states, and to me it's still my favorite beer.

Native of England, now living in Canada - both claim to have 'the Best' beers.....

...yet I would put your Samuel Adams 'Boston Lager' against any contenders! :eek:

Of the British beers, the outstanding winner, IMO, would be Ruddles 'County' Ale - try it if you ever get near there!

I'm on a wheat/hefeweizen/wit kick these days. I love SN but the wheat was disappointing for me.

I really like Widmer Hefeweizen (but I can't get it here damnit) and Bell's Oberon which is a really complex and great heavier wheat beer.

I gotta hand to Coors for Blue Moon. It's pretty good for a huge producer of pisswater.

Some great beers listed here, many that I like. Red Stripe, Yuengling (esp, the Chesterfield Ale), Guiness, Hoegaarden, Fat Tire. I'll throw a few others down as personal favorites

I drink these when I'm out. But at home...nothing beats my good homebrews! As Papazian says, "RELAX, have a homebrew!"

Try Flying Dog "In-Heat Wheat". Not a big fan but you may like. I picked it up the other day.
