View Full Version : What is the best beer? nomopistons 04-27-2005, 12:18 AM What type of beer tastes best to you? RX8-CARL 04-27-2005, 12:20 AM Newcastle Brown Ale. PaulieWalnuts 04-27-2005, 12:23 AM Nothing beats a good Pilsner. rotten42 04-27-2005, 12:28 AM What about an Ale... My favorite beer is Stella PaulieWalnuts 04-27-2005, 12:30 AM Is "malt" Olde English 800 and Colt 45 type of stuff? MX6_2_RX8 04-27-2005, 08:39 AM Ale - Geary's Hampshire Ale to be exact. Anchor Steam's good too. I like stout too but it's too filling. MazdaManiac 04-27-2005, 08:57 AM Stout is a meal in itself. Sheaf, Old Australian, Mackison, Ram's "Total Disorder Porter" - the darker and heavier the better. This is making me thirsty... Rasputin 04-27-2005, 09:45 AM Hoegaarden in the summer (in a clean glass out of the freezer), Palm in the winter (cellar temperature). Leffe Blonde all year. Sometimes, a Scotch CTS or a Kriek (Belle-Vue only - I'm from Brussels after all) for a change and only if available from the tap. Cellis makes a good Hoegaarden alternative. It's from the same brewer after all (Peter Cellis). Stella are very good in marketing and let the world think it's good Belgian beer. But it's just cat piss tasting pils. Labop 04-27-2005, 02:45 PM Stella Artios (sp?) well, I can drink it, I don't have to be able to spell it. Guiness is great and I absolutly love it, but I can't drink it in the states. It tastes like crap over here. I can only drink it in England/Ireland/Scotland wheree it's still fresh. So I had to go for the lager vote. khtm 04-27-2005, 03:41 PM lager for me zoom44 04-27-2005, 08:38 PM i voted stout but would vote porter if it was a choice unpocoloco 05-04-2005, 09:23 AM Fat Tire is worth mentioning DukeGG1 05-04-2005, 10:26 AM LaBatt's Blue XeRo 05-04-2005, 10:34 AM Abita Purple Haze... but for all around drink with dinner or out on the porch watching sundown on the lake...a good true imported Heffewiessen... rx8wannahave 05-04-2005, 10:52 PM None! Pee....Bear is just as bitter...LOL Note: No, I've never tasted it...but I assum it taste as bitter...lol unpocoloco 05-04-2005, 11:54 PM That sounds like a drunken posting if I've ever seen one! I do hope you meant you've never tasted pee, not bear (beer). ;) rx8wannahave 05-05-2005, 08:37 AM LOL...yes, I've tasted Bear and it taste NASTY! I do like eggnog during Thanks Giving and CHRISTmas. My dad makes it pretty strong...probably stronger than Bear, but Bear just taste nasty to me. Gambit 05-05-2005, 08:49 AM lager goood :) dark, good alch. content, but not too dark or filling unpocoloco 05-05-2005, 07:28 PM Bear does sound pretty gross, but I've never tasted it myself. I've never tasted dog either, though, and plenty of people seem to like it in certain countries, so to each his own I guess. SantozRx8 05-05-2005, 07:30 PM Bud Light!!!! snizzle 05-05-2005, 07:32 PM bear does taste nasty, but yet i still drink it.... interesting KC_Prelude 05-05-2005, 08:53 PM Bud Light!!!! Eeew. Nasty arch water. Use that to douse a fire not drink. Right now its Guinness Draught and Boulevard Zon & Wheat. Nothing Else really compares besides mircobrews. PaulieWalnuts 05-05-2005, 09:39 PM The best beer is free. Who's buying? truemagellen 05-06-2005, 02:21 AM None! Pee....Bear is just as bitter...LOL Note: No, I've never tasted it...but I assum it taste as bitter...lol No sex, No beer? No wonder your cooky...cough cough ;) Paulaner Hefe-Weisen (no orange!) unpocoloco 05-06-2005, 11:10 AM Paulie I think you've had enough for now, judging by your avatar. And get off the seat already and let somebody else have a chance, will ya? Red Devil 05-06-2005, 02:30 PM Stout. Nothing better than a Guiness. MaHogoff 05-07-2005, 06:03 AM Guiness is awesome, but if you want something different try a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. There is no finer pale ale. Ajax 05-08-2005, 03:55 AM hefeweisen! N8theGr8 05-08-2005, 02:00 PM I'm a big fan of rye and wheat beer. For all you new england locals Red Hook's seasonal summer beer is an unfiltered rye beer. AWESOME. Moostafa29 05-08-2005, 02:20 PM I've recently jumped on the Red Stripe band wagon. That stuff is GOOD! VikingDJ 05-08-2005, 02:32 PM Back from my college days visiting a friend who went to Penn State, we always drank Yuengling Lager. Now it's made it's way into NJ and other states, and to me it's still my favorite beer. StealthTL 05-08-2005, 03:44 PM Native of England, now living in Canada - both claim to have 'the Best' beers..... ...yet I would put your Samuel Adams 'Boston Lager' against any contenders! An excellent brew! Of the British beers, the outstanding winner, IMO, would be Ruddles 'County' Ale - try it if you ever get near there! S :D :D truemagellen 05-08-2005, 05:25 PM I've recently jumped on the Red Stripe band wagon. That stuff is GOOD! ya mon! :D N8theGr8 05-08-2005, 05:33 PM Guiness is awesome, but if you want something different try a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. There is no finer pale ale. After reading your post I went out and got the Sierra Nevada wheat beer......waiting for it to get icy cold :) SilverEIGHT 05-09-2005, 08:01 PM Cold! :D PaulieWalnuts 05-09-2005, 09:35 PM After reading your post I went out and got the Sierra Nevada wheat beer......waiting for it to get icy cold :) I'm on a wheat/hefeweizen/wit kick these days. I love SN but the wheat was disappointing for me. I really like Widmer Hefeweizen (but I can't get it here damnit) and Bell's Oberon which is a really complex and great heavier wheat beer. I gotta hand to Coors for Blue Moon. It's pretty good for a huge producer of pisswater. I wanna beer dangit. rx8wannahave 05-10-2005, 09:16 AM No sex, No beer? No wonder your cooky...cough cough True...what are you talking about? This is the 2nd thread that you say I don't have sex, etc??? Guy...I'm married and have a healthy sex life, what are you talking about???? I don't have to talk about sex all the time or what I have done to prove it to anyone, I know the fun I have...no need for details. Someone please tell True that I'm married??? lol...I"m not mad, I'm just giving you an FYI since you keep saying those things????? truemagellen 05-10-2005, 12:07 PM  :D drink some beer man! rx8wannahave 05-10-2005, 02:59 PM I have...it taste NASTY! I don't like any of them...not even in a little bit! SilverStreak 05-10-2005, 05:52 PM Some great beers listed here, many that I like. Red Stripe, Yuengling (esp, the Chesterfield Ale), Guiness, Hoegaarden, Fat Tire. I'll throw a few others down as personal favorites -Old Speckled Hen -Boddingtons -Arrogant Bastard Ale -Victory Hop Devil I drink these when I'm out. But at home...nothing beats my good homebrews! As Papazian says, "RELAX, have a homebrew!" angeLa___x 05-11-2005, 12:14 AM f beer, gimme hard liquor. abbid 05-11-2005, 12:15 AM Mickeys. truemagellen 05-11-2005, 12:17 AM f beer, gimme hard liquor. you drink ;) I wonder where the fake I used in college is :D angeLa___x 05-11-2005, 12:22 AM the legal drinking age is 18... what are u talking about?? :D SilverStreak 05-11-2005, 12:24 AM Now you're talking AngeLa. Liquor is indeed quicker, my preferences there run to Tanqueray or some good Cruzan or Pusser's Rum. N8theGr8 05-11-2005, 01:28 PM I'm on a wheat/hefeweizen/wit kick these days. Try Flying Dog "In-Heat Wheat". Not a big fan but you may like. I picked it up the other day. BATMAN 05-12-2005, 03:09 PM Malt? |
