Sorry if it's a repost. They got some pretty shitty acceleration times, but they did mention it handled better than the last Porsche they tested, and it was damn nice to see it in action.

funny how they got 7.03 0-60 time but their "long term" stock car got 6.6 :P

The only thing about that Porsche comparison, is is it really fair? That 8 was not exactly stock - it had all sorts of suspension mods and $1400 wheels (apiece, I think).

 

Yes but the Porche costs 2X plus the price of the MS RX-8 with mods. Besides they were just giving a reference to how well the car does handle with the MS mods, I don't think it was meant as a put-down to Porche.

I don't think people want more appearence look as they do performance needs. Maybe just me but I would like to see more TQ.

 

they said the only piece they wouldn't reccomend is the catback exhaust, yet they have no problem justifying a 3,500 dollar bodykit that adds weight to your car and creates drag...

That and a 7 second 0-60. 15.9 second 1/4 mile What a joke. Like Stealth said. 3500 dollar kit and no more hp. Not looking good for this car

 

a whopping 7.0 second 0-60, thats 1.1 seconds slower than stock, lets see what other unnecesary expensive parts we can add to our car to add weight and create drag to make our car slower!

 

I guess you sacrifice faster straightline speeds for faster cornering speeds. Wish mazda could get their crap together and deliver both.

 

I highly doubt that this would be the production edition, note that they hyped up the accessories angle, it's just a marketing ploy to get people into the dealer to order these parts

I fully expect the the production MS 8 to have FI
