I put my deposit down on a:

Red w/ Red/Black Leather 6 speed
Grand Touring Package
Appearance Package
Rotary Package
Strakes, Exhaust Finishers, Aluminum Air Vents, Aluminum Window Switches, Leather Parking Brake/Knob, Rotary Center Caps, Aluminum Door Sills and (possibly) Grille Trim Ring

Hopefully it will be in the second allotment so I'll get the car in August/September.

Currently I drive a (modified) Audi S4 - Stage III kit with 420+ HP. I wanted a second car to for long trips and to keep the miles low on the S4 and to take on long road trips (California, etc). The RX-8 is gorgeous and offers a very different driving experience compared to the S4 - lighter, rotary engine, etc... more of a true sports car rather than a sedan. I think it will complement the S4 nicely :)

Will anyone who receives their car in these next few weeks be willing to take me for a ride and/or possibly a drive? I think a test drive will assure me that I've made the right decision, and Freeman might not have any cars available for test drive until mine arrives. Thanks :)

Here's a picture of my S4 for those interested... you might have seen me on the road before :D

Good move!
Did they give you a 'build date' or an expected delivery?

Congratulations!!! I ordered mine through Freeman as well. I have been extremely pleased with the service thus far. Now only if they could give me updates on the whereabouts of my car every 15 minutes or so :D

Not yet... Craig, the sales manager, will plug all my details into his computer in the next few days and see what matches and when it would be available. I'm hoping it will be in the second allotment, so maybe August/September delivery. I'm pretty sure red with two tone interior, 6speed with grand touring is probably quite abundant, so there should be a car on a ship somewhere that's not taken yet :) All the other doodad's are dealer/port options anyway.

I too have had excellent service from Craig Martin, Sales Manager at Freeman's as well as Larry Chase, the General Manager. I would recommend them highly to anyone looking to place an order now. Also, there is a chance they may have one or two available from these early shipmetns. Give them a call and tell them you heard about them through the RX8 Forum.

Does anyone know the status of the first shipment to Midlothian? I found out today that the second ship has arrived with my car on it:D I am curious to know if they already sent the first shipment via rail to Midlothian or if they are waiting to send both shipments on the same train. Anyone have any scoop;)

I have a friend that lives close by but he said that all he could see were some KIAs.

The first group of cars is there and the second group should be there shortly. If you talk to Craig or Larry, tell them Mike @Mazda South says Hay!

Budaman-when you say they "are there" are you referring to them being in Midlothian? I would think so as I was told that several of Freeman's status' were now showing an estimated delivery of July week 2.

Also I have not had the privilege of working with Craig or Larry, Wayne has been my contact and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. It is apparent that Freeman maintains service excellence across the board! I would highly recommend Freeman to any one looking to buy a Mazda as my experience thus far has been nothing but wonderful.

P.S.-thanks Boowana for the tip on Freeman 6 months ago.

The first group is at Midlothian. Second is probably 4 or 5 days out. I had 2 in first group and 12 in second.
