Why is Masda SPeed abreviated "MPS"? Seems as though the "S" and the "P" are in the wrong order.

yeah... i think they way it's setup is that MPS will still be "Genuine Mazda", whereas Mazdaspeed will still be "aftermarket"...??

If Masdaspeed is still "after market", then why is the Mazdaspeed Protege fully warranted?

MPS is the performance/accessory division of Mazda Japan(MC). They currently deal in the JDM (Japan Domestic Market) only. Mazdaspeed is the USA/Canada's performance and accessory arm and although suppliers may not be OEM, they are contracted with Mazda to provide services that are covered under new vehicle warranty.

Suppliers like:

Calloway Industries
Roush Industries
Sparco
Racing Beat
Bosal Industries
etc. etc.

All Mazdaspeed variants of Mazda vehicles are covered by the full factory warranty, providing no additional mods are done to the car.
