My car drove different today.. Strange..

Hey Everyone,

I noticed something wierd today. I got in my car, cranked her up, backed out of my driveway, and then proceeded to put it in first and start going like I always do, every morning. I noticed something a bit different though. My tires spun a tiny bit and I was not giving it any more gas then I usually do. I did not think much about it and just shrugged and kept on going. I then noticed that after a few stop signs, a red light, and then getting on the highway that the car, for some wierd reason, seems to feel like it has a bit more power.

I have not done anything to the car, still running on the same tank of gas it had yesterday, have not had an oil change or anything replaced, and just went over 1500 miles yesterday. I have no idea the reason for this as it was certainly hotter today then it has normally been so performance should be a tiny bit worse then on the cold days.

Certainly not complaining, just wondering what may have happened to make the car suddenly seem as if it has more power

Did you either -

Get lucky this morning?
Mail your final payment yesterday?
Get a raise/promotion at work?

I did have relations with the wife this morning, but not the first time I have had wake up morning sex since I have had the 8.

I will mail my first payment tommorrow, which is far from mailing the last payment.

Valid point.

Weather a bit nicer?

Who knows...maybe your foot was just a bit heavier?

Or...you are being sucked deeper into the abyss of RX8 pleasure.

Did the 'flash' fairy make a visit in your sleep? And did you wake up with your pants off?

I suspect our throttle-by-wire isn't bug-free.

Differences in humidity can change the way the car performs. Different air density will change the mixture.

Just a thought

That has happened to me before as well. I didn't think I was driving it any differently, but who knos I maye have. Could also just be that touchy throttle response.

Depends on your mood, and what you got used to last. I've noticed it's most intense after a day of highway driving when you drive straight home, the next morning it just feels so different on surface streets.

The adaptive throttle mapping does change quite a bit from time to time. I spent a day driving 400 miles on two-lane roads out to Iowa from Chicago, and for several days after, it was a bit "hotter" as I drove rather aggressively on those two lanes ...
