I'm not gonna order until I test-drive (yes, the wait is f@cking killing me!)

So for those of you that are in the business, if I were to place an order, say, in three weeks, then how long would it be after that before I'd see the car? Your best guess is fine.

well i orderd my car 0n 6/6/03 and it has already been built 6/19.i excpect it will be in us by end july and to me by august.just find a dealer that still has some allocation cars left if your not to picky on color.

be sure to get a reputable dealership. they are your connection to getting that rx8 on time, to your specifications, and without complications.

If you're near St. Louis, John Bommarito Mazda had one due at the dealership by end of July.

When I was at the dealership here in Oklahoma City it was about 1 1/2 months or so from the time production started on it. I order a Winning Blue.:D

Was this a car that was already part of the dealer's allocation or was it a pre-order?

I was also wondering if you ever heard anything from Mazda through e-mail or anything like that? I ordered mine at the end of May?

Just curious as to others experience

I ordered mine on 6/17 and have a build date of Aug 1st. Expecting delivery late Sept/ early Oct. :P

This is what I've been figuring on too, but I have been hearing from guys here that they have ordered after me, and their build dates have, at this point, already happened. How did you find out your build date? Have you received any e-mails because I've gotten no word from Mazda, but I did get the book. Just curious -

you'll get your car in a much shorter period than the rest of us..probably a month or two. So you shouldn't have to wait too long, but..
You'll probably get marked up, so watch out & you'll have to drool over the rest of our cars as we zoom-zoom past you!!!

When I ordered the car, they told me the build date should be June 1st (of everything is right on track). After that I got nothing from them or Mazda. I checked back with them later on but the only thing they know and told me was the arrival date, which should be somewhere around late July (if, once again, everything is right on track.) Also I never received anything form Mazda about my car, so I have no clue what's the status is, just gotta wait till the dealer contact and tell me to pick up the car.

"...currently showing an ETA of the third week in August. Port departure was 6/24/03. Estimated Port of Entry [Tacoma, then Woodhaven, MI] is 7/11/03. Please keep in mind that the ETA is only an estimate, and could change. "

... seems like odd timing based on my ship dates. Assuming ETA means delivery that's about 6 weeks from Tacoma port?

Ordered mine january 8th, still waiting.;)

Isn't 7/11/03 the third week in July? Seems to me that your car should be at your dealer in two weeks, but I guess that I'm missing something.

I hope you're right Haze and it comes in mid July. I'm waiting to hear back from rx8orders for clarification, but I read it as arriving in port Tacoma on 7/11 then at the dealer 6 weeks later...

It's the "then woodhaven, MI" that makes me have hope for you. I will keep my fingers crossed that your car will be here soon. :)
