Great quotes from the article:

"includes musicians who campaigned against Bush, such as John Fogarty. Also on the iPod is the 1979 song "My Sharona" by the Knack, about a man pursuing a much younger woman."

"One of that song's lyrics, "Such a dirty mind. Always get it up for the touch of the younger kind," prompted Spin magazine editor Dave Itzkoff to comment: "This wouldn't be consistent with Bush's image as protector of conservative values."

" The playlist does reveal a rather narrow range of babyboomer tunes. Writing in the London Times, Caitlin Moran noted: "No black artists, no gay artists, no world music, only one woman, no genre less than 25 years old, and no Beatles."

Be sure to notice if your body leans a little more to the right next time you listen to it.

"This is basically boomer rock 'n' roll and more recent music out of Nashville made for boomers. It's safe, it's reliable, it's loving. What I mean to say is, it's feel-good music. The Sex Pistols it's not."

Hey, the Sex Pistols is too feel-good music. God Save the Queen, that's a nice one. Friggin in the Riggin a good pick-me-upper, My way done by Sid is a Classic.

A good song is a good song. It doesn't matter who wrote it or what you think of them. Sometimes a song is good just because is sounds good to you. Only a psychiatrist would analyze and judge a song for it's lyrical value. What he listens to isn't going to change the world. Who cares?

Bad example man, Hitler listened to the anti-semitic Wagner and other similar musicians involved in Teutonic mythology, which he was very fond of :p. So in this case, it did tell us something.

I guess you could maybe get a rough idea of who I am from what is on my Ipod.

Hitler also tried to make Beethoven his (the 3rd reich's) own.

Anyway... SOMETIMES A CIGAR IS JUST A CIGAR.

At least Bush realizes that bands who rock FOR the establishment suck.

"The rock stars today who don't do drugs and who in fact speak out against drugs - We're rock against drugs! ... Boy, they suck."

The presence of "My Sharona" can be explained quite easily: Bush met with the Israeli prime minister on Monday.

But seriously, Bush is an active guy -- jogs, rides a mountain bike, etc. -- and tunes like that make good workout music -- the type of stuff you throw on an iPod so you can take it with you.

I'd like to see them leak Jesse Jackson's playlist and blast him if he has no white or gay artists.

Or psychoanalyze him for having "New York, New York" or Biz Markie on it.

Geez, some people just can't find better news these days. Who the F cares if his iPod did not have black music or gay music in them. I don't have gay music in my list, I must be a really bad prick.

I guess nothing is going on in the michael jackson trial, so they had to fill the page with something. This isn't news. Them finding woody guthrie songs in there, that would have been news. But this is nothing. But you have to admit it is a much easier story then doing a piece on our healthcare problems, or the trade deficit.

Agreed Zhi, whether you like the guy or not, who really gives a $h1T what is on the President's IPOD? There are more important issues that the media could be covering.

Does anyone really believe this was *leaked*? This was a PR release, pure and simple...a pathetic attempt to make ol' Bushie look cool & hip because he owns an iPod!

I could see it now... No More U2 edition iPod... instead the Presidential Edition iPod... I wonder if any of his songs were downloaded illegally... I wonder if the RIAA would be silenced then?

Dood, if it were "leaked" for PR, the playlist would have 50 Cent and Stone Temple Pilots or something on it.
