he id it got away with it and will pay penance with whatever god is up there in the hereafter. I dont see what the point of talking about it is nearly 10 years after the acquittal.

I think a more appropriate question is, did the legal system work? I think Johnny Cochran and his Dream Team manipulated the system in a way that only a well-heeled defendent can. A number of posters argued with me earlier that the system DID work. I personally don't believe that letting OJ go balances in any way the hack job that convicts innocent defendents in Texas and Illinois and wherever. Nor does it balance the Rodney King verdict, but this jury seemed to think that that was the purpose of this charade.

Someday OJ and Cochran will do high fives in hell.

I wish people would just leave that poor man alone! Hasn't he been through enough? Not only was he accused of killing his wife and another person who happened along, he is also burdened with the reality of the situation. Few people realize that Nicole and Rod Goldman conspired to commit suicide simultaneously in the presence of OJ to purposely make it look like murder.

O.J. Simpson was proven innocent people.....now move on and let him pursue a career as a talk-show host.

Just becasue he was given a not guilty verdict doesn't mean he is innocent.

I personally think the legal system worked just fine. JOhnny and his team did such a great job at defending him it elevated Johnny into super lawyer. He created the oh so clever catch phrase "If the glove does not fit, you must aquit". This was monumental for Johnny's career he was elevated into star greatness. He was "in" ther circle of the celeberties being invited to functions that mattered, movie appearances, shows, etc. As for OJ being gulity once he ran I KNEW he was guility. I dont care if im getting chased by 40 cops I am coloured I know I have a slight advantage over the white community as in rights (People don't like to admit but it is true as in the fact that minorities are given much more privalages when it comes to certain things). I personally would pull over go through the whole bam of getting arrested. Call my lawyer I would not talk to detectives not for the fact that I have anything to hide but for the fact that I do not want my words manpulated and turned into something I did not imply. Post my bail and get ready for getting facts straight. Did OJ do it? Probaly. Did justice work? No, Because this was not justice for Nicole it was the fact of the crown case being strong but not beyond a reasonable doubt. I Had just spent a later 2 years of my life studying a local case (the Air India Trial) and all the evidence was circumstantial and after the fact. Did they also deserve to get away? Yes, because in the true eyes of justice they were not gulity. OJ Did it but he had a damn strong lawyer who his and him had calibrated a perfect case which in the end may have taken much of their lives but elevated them to stardom. Its wrong sometimes how we cant just bat someone in anymore and not get charged :)

When i meant it worked fine because that was the way it was designed to work. To prove the innocent guility or to prove the guilty innocent. You catch my drift? I know it is annoying but thats just the way it goes. It is not laws ideal state but that is what it has become.

Just because people get guilty verdicts doesn't mean they are. I believe he was guilty. But like Raz said he was proven ''not guilty'' with proof beyond a reasonable doubt based on the evidence given. Not guilty. He had to pay in civil court because more evidence is allowed in civil court than in criminal court. The defense team did fine based on what they had. O.J. doesn't have legal representation in civil court to fight for him so he lost in the civil suit. He was proven not guilty.
