Does anyone know of any high-quality dash pics? I'm trying to figure out where to mount my XM radio receiver when I get my 8. I'm hoping it will fit where the nav system goes on cars so equipped, but I really don't know what that space looks like.

I don't think you get the NAV compartment (pop up lid) if you don't order the NAV system so I don't think you can put it there unless you're willing to cut into your dash.

That's a shame. My friend's G35 Coupe has a handy compartment where the popup NAV display would go; I was hoping for a similar setup.

You should still get the pop up if you dont get the Nav system. My gf has a Mazda6 with the same dash setup for the Nav and she still has the popup without the display.

No nav = no pop-up in the 8.

from the audio/electronics section of this forum. there are also other pics of the 4 or 5 different nav systems and their screens that are available in japan around here somewhere. they came from the mazda japan website. it has lead me to believe that the bin seen in this photo and the one used for those other screens is a part available from mazda japan.

what does the XM controller look like or what size is it?
