ok, here is my dilemma. i just got my next month truck payment in the mail. it is do july 5th! i am going to trade the truck in for the rx-8. should i make the payment or take a chance that the car will be here before the 5th? and if it isnt then i have to pay a late fee on the truck payment. any suggestions??

I would pay the truck payment... just in case. But how much would the late fee be is the deciding factor.

Find out if you can pay by credit card over the phone / online. Then you can hold out till the 5th. Either way, it'll be a payment less because you adding the amount owned on the truck to the RX-8's loan.

Wait until the third and then overnight the payment in. That way you only pay $10 to $12 in overnight charges versus a $35 late fee and have a potential ding on your credit. The dealership probably has a contract rate with one of the carriers. I prepay for my overnight service and it's only $5.65 per overnight mailer. I let my employees in on that deal when they need to overnight stuff.

I agree with 3rotor, Wait till the 3rd and if its not here by then
send via priority mail for 12 bucks or pay by credit card, if option
is available. Our cars should be here before then anyway.

Most companies won't report you missing a payment for 1 month, if it's two then they might. If it's three they will for sure.

Yes they do and it will go on your credit report. But you have to wait until Aug. 5 to be a month late. I agreed with the other, wait until begin of July to make your payment. Oh yeah, please say good bye to envelopes and stamps. Online banking and e-payment are here to stay.

Just pay the bill! If they payoff your truck using the the amt prior to your pmt, you'll get a check back and then you can use that to get goodies for your RX. No sense in taking the chance on your credit, especially if your going to be financing with the same finance source.

Don't wait until the 3rd to mail in your payment. The 4th is a holiday and the 5th is a Saturday. The payment will probably not get posted until Monday the 7th.

Play it safe. Mail it in to arrive no later than the 3rd. The odds of having your car ready for delivery one week from tomorrow isn't that great (unfortunately).
