A guage pod for what? Ricing up your car on the first day? :( eclps0 06-22-2003, 12:54 PM i have a air fuel guage. Also to rice is when you go all show no go im going with the guage because ill like to see what the engine is doing when im racing. Im not into the fast and the furoius crap thats all go and put stickers on your car and say its fast. If i say its fast ill prove it on the track not the street anybody can go down a street and say they won but go to the a real track and see what you do. Now thats true racing. daedelgt 06-22-2003, 01:09 PM Air/Fuel is useless without a wideband O2 sensor. Quick_lude 06-22-2003, 01:11 PM Pod gauges are not rice if they're functional? But if you get one of those stick size fire distingueshers that won't put out a match fire, never mind an engine fire then we'll hunt you down.. :D eclps0 06-22-2003, 01:18 PM its a rx8 not a civic with a fart can. lol Edge 06-22-2003, 01:53 PM Originally posted by daedelgt Air/Fuel is useless without a wideband O2 sensor. More info please? Or I guess this could be something for the tech area huh? //ejw rx8racer 06-22-2003, 02:06 PM Rice is the useless wings, overpriced ground effects, lighting, and flashy wheels. Gauges that are functional are not rice. I used to be so annoyed with the people that would rice up Talons. I raced mine and it looked 100% stock. I used to run 12.0's in the 1/4 mile and gauges were a must. As far as air/fuel gauges, a regular one from the store is borderline rice. They make a nice light show but tell nothing at full throttle. Daedelgt is correct (almost) in saying the they are useless unless they are wide band. I use to use a voltmeter for better accuracy and a regular O2 sensor to make tweaks to my fuel mixture at the track. This is where I have to throw in a plug for my web site. www.gadgetseller.com I started modifying the air fuel gauges to be much more precise. .01 volt per LED instead of .05. Granted they are not as good as a wide band system but they work great for $500-$1000 less. Mike QuantumTheory08 06-22-2003, 03:44 PM ...very interesting. I catch the concept of measuring the O2 levels. How is a person able to ADJUST the ratios thorought the power band? I'm new to this but it makes total sense and I'm enjoying it. 7:D + 4:( + 3:mad: -----> 7:eek: + O2 ......at full throttle, of course. P00Man 06-22-2003, 04:21 PM BLAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHahahahahHAahAHAHAHAHahAHAHHAHAa aahahaha, but uhhh....i dont think youll be able to see them in the b-pillar dude... ________ Video Review (http://videoreviews.org) BlueAdept 06-22-2003, 04:54 PM Originally posted by Quick_lude Pod gauges are not rice if they're functional? But if you get one of those stick size fire distingueshers that won't put out a match fire, never mind an engine fire then we'll hunt you down.. :D ROFLOL, I have put out an engine fire at the side of the road... and saved the car.. Mind you, that was a "real" fire extinguisher from the trunk... The car had a recirculating fuel system, and as a streight 6 the fuel simply flowed past each injector... under pressure... but each injector had 2 clips to hold on the rubber hoses, and somhow a few of them had started to leak,.,, small fire turned into big fire once the first hose burst... but by then I'd cut the power and so it wasn't being pumped... it was a melted wiring loom and a few hoses replaced and the car was running again... RotorGeek 06-22-2003, 06:26 PM The A-pilars have airbags. It will be very hard to do. Maybe in the lower part of the a-pilar. You cannot replace the upper half of it. Thats were the airbag is P00Man 06-22-2003, 07:30 PM maybe im a moron, but dont you want the gauges where you can SEE them? ________ SHIP SALE (http://ship-sale.com/) 7to8 06-22-2003, 08:05 PM Originally posted by P00Man maybe im a moron, but dont you want the gauges where you can SEE them? Great post! Edge 06-22-2003, 09:45 PM UM . . . are we confused between the A pillar and the B pillar? B pillar would be a very poor choice for gauge location unless you plan on having a nav or ewo in the back seat. //ejw eclps0 06-22-2003, 09:58 PM forgot which pillar is a or b. sorry about and thanks for correcting me. P00Man 06-22-2003, 10:32 PM woah, didnt he say b-pillar originally? either way, you still cant see the gauges. wouldnt it be better to put tem somewhere on the dash? ________ RHODE ISLAND MARIJUANA DISPENSARY (http://rhodeisland.dispensaries.org/) P00Man 06-22-2003, 10:33 PM woah, nevermind lol, i thought you said b-pillar initially. ________ SHIP SALE (http://ship-sale.com/) |
