another member brought this up i have already thought about it but he reminded me. when the vehicle is sold and i run the vin checks your personal information will be on the info i run. so if after you buy the car i will NOT be able to run your vin. it all has to do with the privacy acts law! after your name is on the page you will have to go to your dealer to get any more info. anyway he made a great point and i thought i better let everybody know!

Names shouldn't appear on any of the reports until the vehicle is RDR'd by the dealer and of course the dealer cannot RDR the car until it ships to the dealer. And by that time they won't need us anymore! SOB I feel so unwanted

Are you freakin' kidding me?!?! You guys are practically legends on this board. I really wish I was buying my RX-8 from one of you guys. My dealer is so clueless and uncaring that I've been looking elsewhere for my purchase (still buying from him as long as my RX-8 is on this next east coast boat). Either of you have a black touring RX8 coming in in either the 1st or 2nd allocations?

I don't think you guys realize how appreciated you are... and what a service/statement you are making on Mazda's behalf.

I haven't even received my VIN yet, but I appreciate the selflessness you have demonstrated. It certainly makes the wait easier, knowing that those in front of me are making progress towards receipt of their cars.

Cheers ibfubar and budaman!

ibfubar, if I have an order number, can I call Mazda and get my VIN?

My dealer doesn't seem to have it, nor does he care to give it to me if he did..

yea both you guys seem really cool, i'd order from you guys if i wasn't so far away, i have a question since you're a dealer, what can i make my deposit with, is it cash or check only, or can i use plastic, because i don't use checks and i really don't want to order any until i need to start making payments with them, and carring cash in more than 100 makes me antsy (maybe it's just the area the dealer's in, but still)

you shold be able to. depending if the order number is an official mazda number and not a dealer number that the dealer uses for tracking in house deals. personally i would call them. they are very polite if you are polite also. and they could give you lots of good info. and as soon as you get your vin just pm me and i will follow up for you if you like.

sorry i missed your question earlier. it depends on the dealer. our dealer does not require a deposit of any kind. because they know if you order it and dont want it it can easily be sold to somebody else with no loss of funds. i orderd mine in jan. with no problems. if i dont want it i dont have to buy it i loose no money and the dealer looses no money because it is going to be sold easily. just ask your dealer most will take credit cards if they require a deposit. just do not loose your receipt!

hey that's cool i'll call them tomarrow and ask, i hope i can order it tomarrow, the msrp according to mazda's site is 28,800 (6-Speed, sport package and 6 disc in dash changer), what do you think i could talk them down to? i was hoping at least 27,500, but since the car's high demand i dunno?

I sure appreciated you guys checking my RX-8's status, and I'm sure a lot of people will hang out after our cars have been broken in. This will be a great place to share and gather info on our SWEEEET new rides.

Now...why do 80% of Mazda dealers SUK? Mine has been so Unhelpful it's ridiculous. They've piled on $300 for Dealer Prep above full MSRP, the bastages.

I doubt highly you'll get it under MSRP.

Good Morning Gang

Got started a little late this morning. Finally went to see XMen 2 last night. Pretty good movie, but could of used a little more RX8! Thanks for all the support you've given us. I think anyone that has any enthusiasm for the RX would do the same thing if they could. There weren't any updates on the reports this morning, everything still showing same status as yesterday. Any of you that can't get your Vin or help from your dealer, P/M me and I'll try to get some info. It's a little complicated so I'd like to do it 1 on 1 if possible. I tried last night for one of our Canadian buddies, but because of emmissions differences, it didn't work. hopefully will here from our DM today on shipping info.
