It seems the best way to avoid flooding is to shut down the engine when it is warm and while you have the RPMs at 4k.

How about a shut off button that will wait until the engine is at a certain temperature, then it will rev the engine and shut it off? The biggest issue I see is with the clutch. I know there is a saftey which can be disengaged to allow the car to start with out the clutch (I did this on my 96 corolla for a remote starter) but can we send a signal to make the car think the clutch is engaged? This way we can leave the car in gear. There would also need to be a saftey to make sure the emergency brake is on.

What do you think?

There is a switch on the side of the tranny that tells the PCM if the car is in gear....

I don't know about this one. Safety issues abound...
