I was on my way to work this morning going 65 on a major highway behind a Tractor Trailer when he kicks up a 3x3 foot section of exploding plywood! Luckily I wasn't on the truck's immediate ass or it would have been into my windshield or my hood at the very least. The damage I recieved was a scrape to the black " skirt " " air dam " " bottom bumper "......whatever the term is for the black lower bumper where the front rotary accent is placed. Can someone tell me the technical term for this part so I don't have to sound like a tool when I refer to it?

Anyway....my question....does this piece take a lot of abuse? Will it get bitched up anyway in all of your experiences? Shall I just move on or comtemplate replacing it. It's really not that bad but I only had this car 3 weeks and I feel like someone just smacked my wife or something!

just get bitched up and kinda get over it . may take alittle soul searching ,but after awhile it will subside and eventually you can get back to your normal everyday routine. trust me, it works. :p

It is called the air dam. It costs about $140. I had a similiar experience last month. A car in front of me on the interstate ran over a truck retread cap that was on the road and it hit the front bottom of my car. It broke my air dam, both wheel well liners and the skid plate under the front of the car. It cost me $600 to fix the damage. I had mine for about a month. Things happen. At least it is better glass of whine than gas mileage and resale value.
