Soooo...my girlfriend's Explorer died. Not sure what happened but we think the oil pump failed. Long story short, no oil was getting to the engine, engine dies. There are two cylinders with no compression. The mechanics at the stealership wanted 6500 to put in a new engine. The car is a 99 and is worth only about 6000 (working). Needless to say, she has a new car. Anyways....the question is what can I do with the Explorer. It's currently sitting behind my house. The g/f kept meticulous care of the car. Went to every service, recorded it in her little book. The car is immaculate....except for a toasted engine  . Of course the warranty has long since expired on the Explorer. It just seems like such a wasted to send it to a salvage yard though. Any ideas?

why don't you find out how much it costs to get a used motor (jaspers, etc.) then sell it

Get yourself a sledgehammer, some spray paint, and a ton of beer. Once you have all three elements you'll know what to do.
