Greddy Turbo...what Problems Cant Be Fixed So Far?

Between Jon, Jeff, Fred and others who know the current tuning issues with Greddy...I am confused. There are tuning issues that seem to surround the current units on the road.
The messages are mixed about what issues can be improved. I have my turbo but have not yet installed it and am concerned about driving a car that backfires and bogs. I dont mind having to retune it but have not heard the definitive yes or no as to whether it can be done at a reasonable cost of time and money.

Lets use this thread to sift through the chatter.

1. what problems have you found so far with your unit

2. which ones can be tuned or repaired

3. results of these changes.

Good idea, Rudy8.

Backfires and bogs, and I've also heard the idle can be a problem with the car occationally dying. True?

My car keeps leaning out after tuning. Has something to do with Long Term Fuel Trim. We think we found the problem but wont know until we dyno again.

I am experiencing no issues whatsoever. Out of the box it ran and is running fine, with a couple hundred miles on it (and thankfully the "break-in" smell has subsided). Here are a couple of points worth considering on why my car isn't displaying any outward issues:

1) 2005 RX-8 -- came out of the box with the "M" flash.
2) Denver -- 5280 feet, and 30% less ambient air than the coasters/flatlanders.
3) No BOV (yet) -- planning to use a closed system.
4) Used the original air injector gaskets (per instructions).

I feel sorry for you guys. I know the test car and owner that Greddy used for their Turbo.

The guy is never around to drive the vehicle as he is over seas.

When he's here he uses it for about 3 days.

I really don't think they had a very good chance to test the turbo in that vehicle. Maybe they used some other test cars.

So. Calf. is the perfect spot to test equipment as you can go from 100 ft above sea level to 5000 ft above or more in the mountains.

Problem is you need someone to put the car through all the phases of test including the up and downs from sea to mountains.

I think Richard has it correct for his Super Charger. He bought a test vehicle and has the opportuntity to put the car through all the paces.
