I just got my latest edition of C&D (it has the new Accord on the cover) and they have an article detailing all the vehicle lineups for manufacturers.

Anyway, they stated that the RX-8 will not be available until MAY.

Just an FYI, don't kill the messenger. But considering we have heard that the factory has not retooled yet, that seems realistic.

I don't care if its delayed a little further (again). As long as they get it right.

Besides, gives me more time to save up some $.

Then again, even magazines make mistakes. We'll have to see if this is confirmed elsewhere.

Is that really a delay? I thought that they hadn't given a hard date yet. That's about what I had been expecting, back on August 10 I wrote, "the car is still about 8-10 months out", which would have put it at April-June. It's fantastic to get confirmation, even though it could still change. I'm just curious why it appears to you that it's delayed again.

C&D is wrong

On what do you base that belief? No offense intended, but I'm more likely to trust a magazine like C&D (even though I think it's a horrible rag) than someone I don't know on the internet. Do you have a source that indicates otherwise?

Rich, I only see it as a small delay of perhaps 3-4 weeks. I was expecting the car out in early April.

Your earlier statement was that "C&D is wrong", not that you "hope" that they're wrong. Which is it? Will it be earlier or later?

As long as you're getting your info from Mazda (not a dealer, they're all giving different dates, except the honest ones who say they don't know), go ahead an continue believing it. Just don't expect anyone else to believe an anonymous nettizen over a major publication. They've got a lot more riding on being accurate.

Although R&T did post that stuff about a rotary Miata...

All the car mags have made speculation before that have turned out wrong, but this blurb was noted in the model rundown for all manufacturers for next year, so hopefully someone was actually asking specific questions and researching release dates for a specific purpose.

I hope that they get it released as early as possible, but if there is a short delay to ensure they iron out all the big issues, I won't complain. Mazda has a lot riding on this model release, and if it is plagued with problems, they could have serious issues down the road.
