I have a Honda as well. I drive a bone-stock 5speed base model as can be '89 CRX. The one thing I have that most other Honda's don't is that I get ~350-400 mpg average :D.

So do you cruise in neurtral? Well thats what do I do to get the same mileage as you.;)

Now a days I only rev my engine past 3k only in the morning to get to work.

Well I drive a POS 97 civic. You know what I don't even know the real difference between a CX and DX. The only difference I notice is the rear windshield wipers.

Death to Honda and Toyota for making boring cars!!

Good thing your getting an RX-8 so you can dump that POS!! How can you invest all that $$$ into an economy car?

BTW, as the old sying goes..."The lug nuts on my Mustang require more torque than your Honda makes!"

(Just a little good natured pot-stirring on a Friday afternoon.)

Here's my list:

--1981 Chevy Malibu 6cyl., on extended loan from grandmother (gas economy of a V8, power of a I4)

--1988 Mazda 323 LX, pretty good except for those damn rear wheel bearings, first car paid for by me.

--1995 Integra GS-R, I/H/E, Enkei wheels, I loved that damn thing

--2001 BMW 325i, bought in Germany, nice car, too expensive,

--1988 Toyota Tercel, carbeurated, had something like 234k mi on the odometer, biggest POS I've ever owned, it's what I drove while saving for the RX-8.

Current Car:

--1997 Honda CR-V, the family hauler, could use a little more power, but overall, a good car.

Could you tell us about your experiences with Mazda? There are people out there that think of it as a really bad car company.

I'm a Mazda kind of guy myself, having owned 2 RX-7's and driven and loved my mom's protege's (1990 and 2000) and friend's protege5 (2002).

In reply to neit_jnf,
my father had a 1978 rx2(beige 4door automatic).He followed that up with a 1980 rx7(tornado silver 5speed GS)
I thought I had gone to heaven when that car made its way off of the pages of magazines and into our driveway. The sounds, the smells even of these cars were like nothing else I had experienced.I was bitten by the rotary bug.
I've even owned a 323GTX and an MPV.My mom is presently driving a 97 protege.
I've worked as a tech for Mazda and I now sell Mazda parts for a living.
Mazda has always displayed a unique approach to the automotive world and the rotary is the ultimate expression of that.As long as they stay with that recipe they'll continue to get my money.:)
