View Full Version : Torque curve for the RX-8!!!! stan11003 08-30-2002, 01:09 AM http://media.mazda.ch/dossiers/Wankel/images/hi-res/skizze-05.jpg 2007RX-8 08-30-2002, 02:19 AM stan11003, is this torque curve speculation on your part, or the results of dyno testing? There are no numbers on the y-axis scale, but it would seem that the 90% line would represent about 146 ft-lbs (162 * .9) and each graduation represents about 6.8 ft-lbs. If that is so, the engine is still generating over 70% of maximum torque at 1000 RPM, which is not too shabby. stan11003 08-30-2002, 08:49 AM Originally posted by 2007RX-8 stan11003, is this torque curve speculation on your part, or the results of dyno testing? I don't know how recent the info is but the graph fits there claims. PatrickB 08-30-2002, 11:20 AM Scale is in newton-meters, 162 ft*lbs is about 220 n-m, 90% is 200n-m, so each line on the graph is 10 newton-meters of torque. That would make the bottom of the graph, the 1000rpm torque, 150 newton*meters, or 110 ft*lbs. |
