Ok I've had this problem since for a long time and it really is a problem only in the summer on hot days

the black foam insulation in the sunglass holder in the headliner...KEEPS FALLING OUT!

Drives me nutz...in fact during a TSB trip I told the dealer...some of the guys lauged but they said they'lll reapply the adhesive. The did and it worked for about a week...then kept falling out...moving around, sticking to my sunglasses

Anyone have this problem?

Anyone know a fix or suggest a fix?

Thanks :)

i know this might not help u now
but prevention could come with one of those
reflective sunshields,
which reminds me i need to order one!

I have one :D but I never use it since I live in minnesota and the car is garage kept at home and work

any alternative adhesive suggestions...would be great

hmmmmmmmmm should I have them replace the overhead console just for a new foam piece pre-assembled at factor? :p ;)

I remember a friend in Illinois used this on his carpeting on his Camaro. http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/en001/utilities_telecom/mro/node_GJMBDVVFV1be/root_GST1T4S9TCgv/vroot_GSRXV6BQXBge/gvel_02DFF0N45Kgl/theme_us_mro_3_0/command_AbcPageHandler/output_html
But since you'll be applying to plastic I'm not sure.

3M makes an adhesive referred to as "Gorilla Snot". Should hold it forever. Of course with any adhesive, preparation is important to get a bond. You may need to do some light sanding and wipe down good with alcohol to remove any old, crumbly adhesive and let dry, before using the glue.

Gorilla Snot = 3M #8001 Weatherstrip Adhesive

Another adhesive I've had good luck with is something called "Marine Goop". Used it to re-attach my Miata's top to the overhead rails and lasted about 8 years until I got rid of the car. Stinks like rotten meat though. Takes a while for the smell to fade.

Gorilla snot has ruined a couple of projects of mine because I didn't account for the area it oozes. The stuff 'foams up' and comes out all over the place...use sparingly.

Perhaps a nail gun and 3/4" ribbed nails would hold your foam pad in place.
