Over the weekend I noticed an eraser-head sized dent on the rear driver's side fender. In order to gain access to the inside of the dent, there are two plastic retaining nuts that thread on to a bolt(s). I've looked in the service manual, but cannot find any documentation on removing the "felt" that lines the wheel well.

Has anyone explored this area of the car? If so, how were you able to remove the "felt" lining?

There's an old TSB on re-attaching the felt. That might give you some insight on what's involved. Take a look at finishline performance.

I've looked through ALL the TSB's and none of them have any reference to the lining of the rear wheels. Looking at the position of the bolt, I may have to remove the interior tire house trim in order to expose the bolt.

Again, if anyone has attempted to remove the felt lining of the rear wheel wells, any insight would be greatly appreciated.
