what are those two little metal bars on the side vents?

what are those two little metal bars on the side vents?
i noticed them on the brochures but have never seen them on any rx8. they really make alot of difference looks-wise, and i wanna get them on mine once i buy my 8. it doesn't seem like it's part of the appearance package, so what the hell is it??
Mazda RX-8 Polished Aluminum Fender Strakes (4) F151-V4-300F. They are not on any package, you have to purchase them from Mazda, but there are forum members that are making them for a lot less money.
