Matt,
Can you tell us what the difference is between the Greddy oil pan & the stock unit ? I am thinking about buying this (currently have the Greddy turbo kit) but I would like to know the differences, & fuctional advantage of this unit.
Thanks.

Yeah, I saw that thread, but I want to know if the specs are anydifferent, maybe design to help flow better. If the only difference if an extra 1/2 quart of oil & 2 taps that is not enough for me to buy this product. I would like to know is their any design advantages, or better flow for this unit. Why is it better for a turboed RX8 other than 2 lines & a little more oil ?
yes see the thread .. but i can say i will install on my car even beofre my turbo kit.. this is a very nice pan ! It hold more Oil has colling fins on the bolltem is made very well.. and ofcourse says greddy ! oni it.

hmm since it holds more oil...i wonder how much lower it sits on teh car.....i would hate to have it get gouged:(...if it doesn't sit lower how'd they fit more oil in? hmmmm...just some things to think about.
Not Lower than your Rear Dif :) ..
its only about 1 inch deeper from what i can see off the car..

I put in the greddy kit and oilpan today. Notice the hollow area in the new pan vs the old pan. Also, it does hang lower but still above the other components in the car.
If you run over something or hear the bottom hit something, I'd check your pan quick. Especially if your lowered, like me. Getting an oil pressure gauge soon.

Very nice Adrian. How long did the total install take ? Also was there any weight difference ?

Oilpan was easy, 45min to 1 hr. There's a small indention in the oilpan (on the rear driver side) where you can wedge a screw driver and pry the silicon loose. Still had a good amount of oil after it was drained, maybe 1qt, so have something to catch that. Then shave off the loose silicon with a razor blade to make a smooth surface. Take out the parts from the old, put into the new pan, hitemp silicon around the edges and reinstall.
