View Full Version : O2 sensor fooler?

I've been thinking about exhausts lately and had a few questions.

Now I know if you put in a straight pipe or resonated race pipe, etc, then you wont have a cat or an O2 sensor to tell the computer that the cat is functioning properly. From my understanding this is where the O2 sensor fooler comes in, right? It is basically just something that will tell the computer the cat is functioning properly, right? Where do I buy one of these and does anyone have any websites that explain how it is installed and such?

My next question was about emissions. In my state there is no inspection, just the test. With modern cars they don't even use the sniffer, you just roll up and they plug into your computer for the test. My question is, if you have the straight pipe with no cat but have an O2 sensor fooler, does this mean it'll be tricking the computer and I'll essentially pass emissions even though I have no cat?

Any input on this is appreciated. Also I tried some searching online but didn't come up with much, as well as searching on here, so if anyone has any useful links to read I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I have the Casper Electronics fooler, but I haven't had a chance to put it on yet!

I can tell you how it wires up, and the colour codes if that helps, but no results - not sure if it will even work, Canzoomer said that he hasn't seen an effective one yet! :(

Which one did you use from casper electronics?

I'd like to hear how it worked once you get it in.

I thought the e-manage device only works in open loop mode- which is 6k rpm or higher?

And the ecu 'learns', so if you try to fool it, it will actually learn it is being fooled and counter it?

(shrug)

Sorry, I am a new RX8 owner repeating what I have read elsewhere. I may be completely wrong.
