View Full Version : Lamborghini Concept S
BlueEyes 02-18-2005, 02:35 PM I think it looks really neat, don't know how practical it is, but it's interesting. I was thinking the other day about how we need more speedster type cars rather than cabriolets.

At the Geneva Motor Show, the House of the Raging Bull will present a new design study that renews a great Lamborghini tradition.
Like the 350 GTS and the Miura Roadster before it, the Lamborghini “Concept S” is a unique car, an extreme and spectacular expression of the Lamborghini brand.
Created at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in Sant’Agata Bolognese by Luc Donckerwolke, Head of Lamborghini Design, the “Concept S” is his extreme interpretation of an „open car“. Using the Gallardo as a basis, Donckerwolke drew inspiration from the classic single-seater racing cars of the past to create this latest design study.
The classic single-seaters did not have a traditional windscreen, but utilised the so-called „saute-vent“ (in French: a sudden change in the wind) in order to direct air over the head of the driver - and so does the “Concept S”. These devices divide the cabin into two distinct compartments, giving the car an aggressive and futuristic look and also creating a space between them that acts as an additional air inlet for the powerful engine, which is positioned behind the seats.
An electronically controlled, retractable central rear view mirror allows the driver - when required - to see what is happening behind the car.
The aerodynamics of the “Concept S” have been optimised thanks to front and rear spoilers and a large rear diffuser.
larazaunida 02-18-2005, 02:40 PM Holy Crap! I want to ride in one!!(never will happen) Its very different, at first i was going to say nasty. But i decided to look outside the box, different from the norm, and when i actually think about it, i like the idea and its good to change. Take nintendo for example, some people get turned off, but for the creative, its very refreshing. Nice job on the concept Lambo.
rx8wannahave 02-18-2005, 02:45 PM NICE!
I wonder...why can't they style a car similar to that (it can be closed roof) and price it between $23-35,000?
Does style of have price? Oh wait...oh yeah, I got a RX8...lol
XDEEDUBBX 02-18-2005, 02:47 PM looks cool but a little over done..but then again its just a concept..
Gambit 02-18-2005, 02:55 PM wow
i love it
abbid 02-18-2005, 02:59 PM Enzo attack!
AdictiveRx 02-18-2005, 03:01 PM h-frickin-Mazing!! I want! We have a '99 Diablo SV Monterey Edition number 29 Twin Supercharged, but i would trade it for this one anyday!!!
TheColonel 02-18-2005, 03:02 PM I think it would be weird... "Hey come for a ride with me in my new Lambo! Well.. I mean, you'll be riding in a separate compartment... but it will be fun!"
Idk... I like driving WITH my friends...
BlueEyes 02-18-2005, 03:05 PM You can still talk to them, and the that division that splits the two compartments is a pass through below. It would be like putting a two by four in between the front seats of the 8 at shoulder heght. Certainly it would take some getting used too, but a screaming v10 would ease that.
TheColonel 02-18-2005, 03:05 PM On second thought, the girl standing next to me says that she would have sex with me immeadiately if I pulled up in that car... point taken... :)
BlueEyes 02-18-2005, 04:01 PM I did a quick sketch/trace of what I think would more likely make it too production. I really like the idea of a low windshield with your head hanging out over the top like the speedsters of old.

portero23 02-18-2005, 04:07 PM I'll pass... there's certain things you can't do in a car when your passenger can't reach you from the passenger seat...

BlueEyes 02-18-2005, 04:21 PM haha, she can wait until we get home, 600hp should get us there quickly enough :D
TheColonel 02-18-2005, 04:47 PM Portero, that's what she said, lol
TheColonel 02-18-2005, 04:57 PM Hey, if it's rear mounted, what're the front inlets for? Brake cooling? Radiator? Oil Cooler?
BlueEyes 02-18-2005, 05:13 PM They're raidator ducts. No doubt there are ducts for brake cooling in there as well, I haven't had a close look though.
magixpuma 02-18-2005, 05:14 PM umm i guess its the hand built v 12 engine custom, carbon fiber, 30 thousand dollar front and rear bumpers, thousand dollar paint jobs... yeah i think thats why they cost a bit more then 26 g's
BlueEyes 02-18-2005, 11:37 PM V10 magix, but yes, there are many good reasons that this is 180K car
jenkins-crew 02-19-2005, 12:42 AM so is that a convertable or t-top? :)
BlueEyes 02-19-2005, 12:44 AM I think it's a no top, just like the old days.
jenkins-crew 02-19-2005, 12:51 AM Note to self: do not live in rainy climate with this car... :D
BlueEyes 02-19-2005, 12:57 AM haha, no kidding, that would be a wet ride!
It reminds me of the Jag xk180 concept a few years ago. I would assume the windscreen would be about the same height.

jenkins-crew 02-19-2005, 12:59 AM nice, what are they thinkin, that its always sun and shine....lol
jonnyb 02-19-2005, 09:56 AM nice, what are they thinkin, that its always sun and shine....lol
do you really think that anyone who would own a lambo would drive it in the rain anyway?
Labop 02-19-2005, 10:51 AM Hey, if it's rear mounted, what're the front inlets for? Brake cooling? Radiator? Oil Cooler?
Maybe the inlets are for a jet engine..., just slap wings on that baby and you're cruising at 10,000 ft no probs
BlueEyes 02-19-2005, 12:06 PM do you really think that anyone who would own a lambo would drive it in the rain anyway?
Yeah, they would. I see a yellow gallardo being driven in the snow in Toronto occasionaly. It's a drop in the bucket for some people. As well, I am sure if they could afford this car, they could afford another car for driving in the rain.
AQA101 02-19-2005, 12:18 PM Great design, completely different with the separated spaces for driver and passenger.
RX-Hachi 02-19-2005, 12:19 PM The concept reminds me a lot of an old hot wheels toy car I had as a kid.
silverghost 02-21-2005, 03:33 AM I really think that this car will get you chics!
silverghost 02-21-2005, 03:34 AM I love topless!
BlueEyes 02-21-2005, 07:14 AM I really think that this car will get you chics!
The murci roadster, I have read, is a bit of a dissapointment. I heard that the cloth top it uses has to be taken off at speeds of 100 mph, that it tends to leak and that it takes 20 minutes to put on. I hate the murcie anyhow, much rather a galllardo or this.....

jenkins-crew 02-21-2005, 07:21 AM Think I will stick with my 8, oil change doesn't cost 10x as much :D
